I finally saw "District 9" the other day.....and I LOVED it! It was simply amazing! What a creative and exciting film! I think it's the best movie I've seen this year, and is easily one of my favorite alien movies. So after seeing it I just had to draw a Prawn (The aliens are called Prawns since they're bottom feeders and look like prawns). I love their design, plus I think they're cute as hell, especially Chris and his child.
Anyways, I don't want to give any spoilers, just go see this film! As for this drawing It took me about 8 hours to draw, it was REALLY difficult since I had a tiny still to work from as a reference, most of it I had to look up or do it by memory. I think I did a good job though. Oh, and to those who have seen this movie.... Is it just me, or did they skip this scene? Like in the trailers they had this interrogation-like scene where they're asking a Prawn where they're from and the Prawn replies "We just want to go home." . That wasn't in the movie! Maybe they'll add it in the extended version, which I would so buy when it comes out on DVD.

Really good stuff, only thing I'd like to disagree with is the thickness of his antenna. But overall it's an amazing piece and a fav of mine.

it was a good movie, but there were definatly a lot of jokes you would miss if you weren't from south africa. My fav is when he said "Will you slow down with the clicks!".
Also (more sadly) the eating of the animals to gain their "power and abilities" is unfortunatly a real practice, I remember last year some guys broke into a zoo and stole some endangered animals for it.

As per the movie, I enjoyed it :3 It took a different twist than what I was anticipating from seeing the trailers, but it was good nonetheless :3

That is true, but there may not be an extended version. Peter Jackson produced it, but didn't direct it. So I dunno. The extended LOTR were gifts from God lol.

It WILL be!! Strawberry's friend (Darn, I need to think of a nickname for him D:< ) and I stayed up like, all night playing truth or dare and talking. It was very fun. ^-^ I'm sure Strawberry will tell you at least some of it. XD But some stuff stays with us, so we didn't tell Strawberry about some stuff.
And yeah, Strawberry was thinking about that. :3 We'll have to go to a matinee if we want to do anything afterwards... Ehh, not really, as long as you don't give out where you live or anything like that you're pretty safe. My mom is paranoid as hell about that sorta thing, but also knows computers really well, and she thinks there's no harm in posting pictures or saying your name.
