I finally saw "District 9" the other day.....and I LOVED it! It was simply amazing! What a creative and exciting film! I think it's the best movie I've seen this year, and is easily one of my favorite alien movies. So after seeing it I just had to draw a Prawn (The aliens are called Prawns since they're bottom feeders and look like prawns). I love their design, plus I think they're cute as hell, especially Chris and his child.
Anyways, I don't want to give any spoilers, just go see this film! As for this drawing It took me about 8 hours to draw, it was REALLY difficult since I had a tiny still to work from as a reference, most of it I had to look up or do it by memory. I think I did a good job though. Oh, and to those who have seen this movie.... Is it just me, or did they skip this scene? Like in the trailers they had this interrogation-like scene where they're asking a Prawn where they're from and the Prawn replies "We just want to go home." . That wasn't in the movie! Maybe they'll add it in the extended version, which I would so buy when it comes out on DVD.

Maybe he thinks cause he's a guy he thinks he won't get kidnapped or anything like that. A lot of my guy friends think that way and they're so wrong.
Yeah, it was so not fun, and scary. Luckily after threatening him and blocking all his accounts he started to leave me alone for good.

I wanted to see it, but then I read a review. It said it had some extreme gore in it when some prawns tear off a guys limbs, and someone becomes a prawn. It made it sound...not good.
Great picture, it's very exact to the teaser I first saw of D9!

Seriously? I didn't think it was that bad at all. My mom even saw it and enjoyed it and she's VERY sensitive to gory movies. Yeah, one guy gets ripped apart (You'll be glad, cause the guys a cruel ass hole), they show the main character slowly morph into a Prawn, and they do show him loosing teeth, finger nails, skin peeling, and he pukes a couple times, but it's seriously not as bad as it sounds. And some people do sorta explode from getting shot by the alien guns or get shot in the head. But really, it's not as bad as most rated R movies now a days, it's pretty tame. I've read some reviews and I think some people over exaggerated the gore, unless you're really sensitive to blood. But yeah, I think if my mom could see it anyone can. XD

One of my friends saw it and said it was awesome. I wish I hadn't read that review so I wouldn't be so iffy on seeing it. I might watch it on youtube or something because I'm not to fond of the skin ripping. (I could skip that part) And I'm not supersensitive to gore, it's just that I don't like the feeling of a transformation type thing. Just kind of creepy. And my friend told me that they did take out the interrogation scene.

Yeah, if you don't like graphic transformation scenes you may not like it, cause throughout the film he turns into one of them, but yay, maybe watching on a smaller screen on Youtube might be better for you, cause it is such a great movie.

My friend that saw the movie told me about the cat food thing and we thought it was hilarious. Oh and by the way, did you know that the guy who made D9 was making Halo the movie, but then stopped on it for D9?

I can understand, That's like me and bugs inside people, I can handle watching pretty much anything when it comes to movies except bugs eating people alive (Though, the Alien movies don't effect me), especially anything from the inside and worms. Like I'd never watch "Slither" or "The Mist", just reading about it creeps me out. X_X

I loved the book "The Mist"!! My favorite of Steven Kings. I agree. I HATE PARASITES. Ugh. I remember when I had a picture of one in my science book and I flipped to the page with it on it and I flipped out, threw my book off my desk and jumped out of my chair. I was only 10, but I still hate parasites. I haven't seen Alien. I've seen parts of AVP, but never Alien. I'd never watch Slither either. saw it and said it was kind of a comedy (like D9 with the cat food) but I'd still never watch it.

Yeah, ever since I watched this documentary about parasites, tape worms, leeches, etc. on Discovery channel as a kid I've had a phobia of them. It totally freaks me out, even in movies, like I hated seeing the nanites crawl around in the people's skin in the "G.I.Joe" movie. X_X The Mist sounds like a great movie (Except the ending sounds lame), but I heard there's a scene that bugs where laid in this guy and burst out of his cheeks and stomach when they hatched. Just thinking about it is like...... gah!
Yeah, only thing is I heard they crawl into people and they look like worms. And they impregnate one girl, just reading about it and seeing the trailers freaked me out. X_X

I saw it on Animal planet....ugh, I HATE parassites. The books ending is diferent and better, it just leaves you hanging, it says, "I'm going to leave these papers here in case someone finds them some day. I hope that everything turns out ok. I hope."
Or something like that. The eggs in the guy thing isn't that bad, they don't really burst out, it just looks like abunch of spiders crawling on him, it didnt have that good of special effects, so it isn't that bad.
D9 has awesome specail effects, so I'm not sure if I'll see it. lol
Someone told me about Slither. It freaking goes down a guys freaking throat while he's freaking asleep. Do you know where they come from though?
And I saw a movie about worms once (not parrasites, just worms) and it's a horror/comedy, and it's not scary. It's kind of funny and it's really good. Have you seen Tremors?

That's good, cause when I heard (SPOILER ALERT!!!) that they shoot themselves, including the father shooting his kid since they thought there's no hope, and then he freaking gets out of the car and the bugs are all gone. I can't imagen a father or mother giving up that easily and killing their kid to make it (Quick and painless), if I was that dad I would have done ANYTHING to keep my kid alive, i'd never give up. o_O I dunno, I just found it unrealistic and gross.
Really? Oh, I could handle that if it's sorta like "The Mummy" with the scarabs.

I LOVE Tremors! I've seen them all, lol! So funny cause one of my best friends and I used to watch it and it would scare her so bad, she'd try to stand on furniture and couches! XD

The mother isn't in the car. I like mr. Kings' version better. And it's more than bugs. There is a giant lobster thing, these pterodactyl things, and a tentacle monster too. Do you know where they all come from though? (King was very original on this one)

Lol, I have all 4, I didn't like 4 as much as the other 3 though. Back when I was in Fourth grade, my teacher LOVED Sci-fi movies, specifically Tremors. It was cool.

Blair Witch Project is a movie made in the 90's that's filmed like footage of a real event (Like Cloverfield) about these 3 young adults who make a documentary about the legend of the Blair Witch, only they find out she's not a legend. It's funny cause to this day people still believe it's real, but it really isn't, just a movie. Pretty fun to watch, some of the acting is pretty goofy though. XD

Very well done, my friend. Amazing work. I can't help but feel a strong sense of sorrow and innocence When I look into they're eyes. Indeed, I believe that more than anything else, the film creator's really portrayed emotion in the aliens just by their eyes alone. Deep and meaningful.
