I like the Aventine, but not the Titan...

Maybe in your universe, you could change the Titan's class.

Nahh, the whole concept is fishy for me. I mean, Riker commands a flying zoo! Terrans are a miniroty on that ship. I'm a First Fleeter, this ain'tmy way

I have to admit, I don't quite see why Riker would eventually leave the Enterprise after fifteen years just to command a cut-down Sovereign. The early fan theory that the Titan was a prototype for a new class of starship even bigger than the Galaxy class, perhaps even a one-off super-explorer, makes more sense - Riker clearly was drawn to ships with a romance, mystique, or historical significance about them. What does the Titan offer him that the Drake, the Aries, the Melbourne, the Voyager, or any of the other ships he was doubtless offered command of get him? After all, she's still "not the Enterprise".

A novel explains that it was 'Take the Titan' or 'Starfleet won't offer you another ship. You'll be first Officer of the Enterprise forever.' It would've been a career killer to stay on the E-E.

Correct - the Riker Maneuver is when they collected the Metereon Gas in the ram scoops, then released it into a cloud that the chasing Son'a ships went too close to... one shot from the Son'a and BOOM!
