A very picture of Enterprise.

Shame this is not her during her Dominion War service which is what 'Insurrection' should have been all about imho!

Thank you very much! I've made hommages to all canonical movies (not the Abrams crap). This is one of them.

If this is what people can do nowadays on their home computers, imagine if they remade the TNG movies.

This was an intriguing idea in "Insurrection" - the premise that the Briar Patch's conditions were hostile to starship engine systems.

Admiral Dougherty stated to Picard that they were still mapping out the region, but what Ru'afo and company obviously didn't tell him was that they had prior knowledge, and that their ships were adjusted to the area. So it all made sense when the Son'a ships caught up with the struggling Enterprise-E.

I still didn't understand why the Enterprise didn't launch a barrage with torps and phasers...

Nuclear-Fridge In reply to thefirstfleet [2014-01-09 13:33:54 +0000 UTC]

They were stuck with "Script Setting One", I think. All that weaponry and technology, but they don't think to use it until the Dramatically Appropriate Moment.

She's venting metreon gas from her nacelles...Is she using it to confuse the Son'a, or is she "injured"?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

thefirstfleet In reply to DalekOfBorg [2014-01-07 20:34:52 +0000 UTC]

Well, this scene in the movie actually takes place before the Riker Manouver. The Enterprise is being chased through the Briar Patch by the Son'a ships, and she is not adapted to this hostile environment. It is expressed both by Admiral Doughtrey and Geordi. The Enterprise is struggling, her engines overloading. Geordi says they are "burning deuterium", which I interpret as something wrong with the impulse engines, as deuterium is fusion fuel and Trek impulse drives are fusion reactor based. Why does smoke come from the nacelle grids, I don't know, but I think it's probably separate from the burning deuterium problem. Warp nacelles run on plasma, which is hot, so I think the nacelles are actually burning through the dense matter/space clouds/nebula/whatever that is the Briar Patch.

Could be the manifolds venting off pressure or something.

Or they decided that having the necelles venting like that looked better than having something near the Impulse Engines venting.

The cover of the new Titan book has a rather nice representation of the ship, the only one I've liked so far.

Yes, "The Poisoned Chalice". BTW Riker has been promoted to Rear Admiral, very appropriate.

And so fitting that Picard knew better! It was, after all, James T. "The Man" Kirk who told him never to let go of the Enterprise!

I always like the moments when Riker got to temporarily command the Enterprise. Oddly enough though I never had the motivation to pick up a Titan book.

I'Ve read the Titan parts, of course, of the Destiny trilogy. Well, let's just say, the man commands a flying zoo.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

thefirstfleet In reply to Kudos707 [2014-01-08 15:18:54 +0000 UTC]

Basically, the Titan is a propaganda ship with only a minority of the crew being Humans. Strength in diversity and shit. The writers came up with weird alien designs, including something like a cyborg ostrich, a velociraptor and, not kidding, Stitch from Lilo and Stitch!

Kudos707 In reply to thefirstfleet [2014-01-08 19:22:48 +0000 UTC]

I heard about the velociraptor, that's fucking dumb. I do like the cute half-Vulcan that joins the Enterprise. 10/10 would cuddle with

Yeah screw that, I think at that point I would just settle down on a retirement planet with a beautiful Orion wife and call it a day hahaha

I actually liked Insurrection. And I kinda make use of the Riker Maneuver on Star Trek Online. ^^

Nice shot of the Enterprise about to start dishing it out again.

BTW... I used to have a similar, if not the same, model joystick they used for the Manual Steering Column.
