This is brilliant. I have a hard time believing this is a first attempt. I cant help but be curious what possessed you to create this cycle?

It was  a project for a class. We were making a game. So we had to animate a character running and jumping and make the levels and things. It was stupid. The class was called "Game Art" not effing "Game Design" I found it to be the most stressful thing imaginable trying to make and animate a full level for a character to jump around in. By the first class I was way behind. This was the only decent thing that came out of that course.

I know that pain man, for one of the animation courses I took we were suppose to share a lot of the workload between us to help design the game, but since I was the only one with the Wacom in class I ended up doing a lot of the character run, jump, and walk animations. It was fun but their are few more tedious tasks in the known universe then working on a animation cycle for a game character.

Although that does sound like a misleading name for the class you took ,I knew more or less what I was getting into with the one I took.

I do wonder though man where are you attending because the progression of your work from the beginning of your gallery to your current output is mind melting how much you've learned and applied.

I hope your shopping your portfolio around man if you don't already have a big studio gig already, because I with your talent and knack for compelling storytelling I can see you being huge in the industry man. Please continue doing whatever your doing, because it works.

Cheers

Very nice, now you just have to do all the tweens to make it super smooth :L

I agree with it. The movement is nice, but maybe it could be faster. Unless she's running in slowmotion (my professor told me this a hundred times...). Tweening may solve it.

That's cool What reference did you use and how many frames is this? I've just started on a run cycle in school and we're using Tony White's book "How to Make Animated Films" for that.

I think 10 frames? 9? I just found a generic run cycle image.
