Not a lot of people are aware that I'm working on recreating "The Magic Inside" in 3D with my own models yet. I've published a few things about it already, but some of it's buried in my activity feed on DeviantArt or not a lot of people are looking at the Apple Stage set I've been working on for this project. So have a WIP animation of the first few seconds of the song!As you can imagine, it's not exactly straight forward on how one would approach animating a horse to play a piano. I'll continue to work on it to make it not feel jerky while still having her play as many notes as possible. Though obviously she won't be able to play everything, not just because she's playing on a 23 key piano.

it's usually just shrugged off or waved away in the show, but you worked so hard to make it make ~sense~

My eyes are drawn to the tail tip. It's like a chicken's head, the rest of her moves but it stays right where it is o.o
Seriously well done though. I'm loving the emotion in her face in these demos.

Yeah I don't touch any of the things that are considered secondary (tail, hair, ears) until the main body movement is finalized, which it currently isn't.

I know I could have done proper spacing for the black keys, but given the fact there are only 23 keys total, I chose not to.

He's not making money off of it, so no big deal. 90% of C&D's happen because of money making off Hasbro's brand.

Ah yes I'm actually aquintences with Jan, he's a very nice guy, but the reason Button was shut down was because he was making a series off of it and this was close to when they were putting him in the 100th episode, also I know Jan did do animation commissions as well.
Journey of the Spark got 2 C&D's which they ignored and were sent a third letter, you can read that here:Β derpibooru.org/686351 Making something like a fanmade full length MLP movie is a threat to Hasbro themselves, it is simply not allowed. Fighting is Magic got shut down cause they were accepting payments at cons for the game and such, which if you're doing a game thats run by volunteers, the program you are making it in is free, you have all your assets, you should NOT need to ask for money, also all of these projects had their own assets that looked... How should I put this? TOO close to the show style that it could be confused for Hasbro's material itself. I also (and this is a personal belief so not fact) believe that Lauren Faust only joined Fighting is Magic or 'Thems Fightin Herd' team to simply spite Hasbro. She did not like that they wanted to change so much of her original concept of MLP that she left and had a grudge against them for a while. She hates Equestria Girls XDD Β and she wanted the show to end with Season 3 I believe but that was when they were all supposed to reach their final destiny's (Twilight being something special...er. to Celestia (not an alicorn) Rarity owning her boutique in Canterlot, RD becoming a Wonderbolt, etc. So the show would have been much more shorter and so many characters would have been left without backstory, their own episodes, mane 6 character growth, no EQG, etc if she was still running it and got her way. She forgot Hasbro is a toyline and MLP:FiM is to promote said toys, Β Hasbro is the one who simply says "we need a new princess so little girls can buy a princess pony toy" the show makes it possible, the toys are made.Β
TL;DR: They all either made money off of it, or there's was a threat to Hasbro (show/movie, etc.)
Best way to get out of it? Use OC's, change character names, locations, world name and/artstyle.

Ok then I see what your saying. Still it really sucks. People just want to make something they are passionate about and something ruins all the progress and time for it. I just hope this animation doesn't get ruined, it looks so awesome.

Not the whole episode, no. Not only is that ambitious, but I'm pretty sure people from hasbro wouldn't like that either. I'm just recreating the ending of that episode.
