Description
If this looks fimilar, it should. I always liked the scene in the opening of WHR where Robin is playfully trying to balance herself on the side of the street as she walks along it. I've always thought that this displayed her innocence despite her given profession. Its one of those short-lived situations where you get to see her relaxed and unbothered by who and what she is, and what she's called to do.She has her suitcase in the opening, which implies that she's waiting for an STN-J escort to pick her up and drop her off at STN-J headquarters. The scene implies that she's recently arrived in Japan (from Italy), which is how the first episode starts, with her arriving at STN-J
I used a screen capture as a reference for this.
Full-views are always appriciated

Its her suitcase where she has her clothes and such. This is from the opening of the show, so my guess is this is right before the events of the first episode, where she arrives in Japan from Italy.

No. She's a witch hunter who was stationed in Italy but was sent to Japan to help the Japan branch of the organization out. The ironic twist is that she herself is a witch but she's working for the "good guys".

I got the show and I'm TRYING to watch it. It's so boring so far...I'm not so patient so as to keep watching! Please tell me it's good...I trust your judgement.
BTw, the painting is very delicate and elegant. Although you used a reference, it's evident you gave it your own touch.

Yes. Well, let me tell you, this is one of those animes where you have to be patient in order to get the payoff. The action is suspensful, but it doesn't happen often. Many episodes will seem like a bunch of nothing is happening. Just like Neon Genesis Evangelion, Witch Hunter Robin is a thinker and philosopher's show, meaning that only people who are into the drama aspect of it, and into the plot points are going to really enjoy it.
While it is possible to watch WHR at a glance and still enjoy it without getting involved or by taking an indifferent attitude, it will seem like a waste if its just not for you. These types of animes require patience and a desire to a see a theory, plot, or drama unfold, rather than action or anything else.
This show is not a comedy, nor is it an action thriller. It is a drama, through and through, just like Evangelion.
I liken this show, WHR, to the X-Files. In actuality, it is alot like that show in more ways than one. The first thing that makes it similar is the lighting treatment. You'll see in X-Files and WHR that theres lots of shadows, and darker colors, and the hues are more realistic and not all animish and flashy. Its gritty, earthly, and sets a real mood and tone.
Aside from the visuals, WHR is like the X-Files in that it's all about an investigation into the paranormal and there being forces trying to stop it.
While I like the character Robin Sena and some of the supporting characters, and I've drawn my share of fanart and will continue to, I give the show a 7 out of 10, which is pretty generous actually. It does have flaws and things that could have been better, but it was good enough for me to watch.
If you don't have the patience, I don't recommend it.
Onto my picture, thank you. Yes, this scene is based on a scene from the opening intro to the show where she's walking along the sidewalk, on the side, and balancing herself playfully. So, yes, a reference was used, but as you say, I did do things differently that its not the same thing.
Thanks.

Do you want me to explain the ending so you'll understand?
Also, did you already see my Anko portrait? Seeing that you have a Naruto avatar I thought you'd be interested in it.

This is very nice, I like the soft strokes of colour, it seems loose and spontaneous and the effect is very good.
Her gestures and movement are also very well done

I always wondered wether copying an excisting frame from an anime would be considered 'art', but I guess you did add a bit of color and spice from your own collection...
Looks decent, but next time, draw your own

Theres many different things that are different about it, but I digress, theres nothing wrong with wanting to draw that that scene that way.

I meant that I wasn't pleased with the output and that I wish I would produce more sooner. Its not uncommon for me to only draw one picture a month, and thats not good.

well:
1 there are less bugs in the brush system, for instance I had some crash when I changed brush sometimes, I don't have that anymore.
2 As you zoom in or out in the picture you can see a weird scale in the pixels, they correct that error and now you can see a perfect image in every zoom step.
3 More stability...that's for sure...
4 I think the program achieve more speed in some brushes.
5 I didn't test the gif animator, but the one in the 9.0 version was heavly bugged on my system
I can't remember others right now, but I heard a pro corel painter saying that he started painting with photoshop after painter 9.0 came out...and he went back on painter with 9.5 because it was corrected by numerous bugs.
I had to apply version 9.1 first and then 9.5 over that
it should just go fine.
Try it and let me know what you think

I haven't run unto any problems myself, so I can't really say anything bad about it. Alot of it has to do with your computer system as well and whether it can support a program that large.
