Another Metal Gear fanart. Sorry to those who won't understand
Anyway, I was bored and this popped into my mind. XD As all of you who have played MGS know, the Meryl ending is the official ending, and SnakexMeryl is canon.
But sometime before the MGS2 timeline, they apparently broke up for some unknown reason... o-o
This would be one of my crazy guesses.
Most likely it would be obsolete by the time MGS4 is released this June. Hopefully they'll reveal why. Anyway, those girls behind Meryl are women from the first two Metal Gear games who have had some feelings for him.
Took some artistic license in drawing them, so sorry if they suck.

Apparently Snake and Holly had mutual feelings for each other. Meryl's most pissed about her, I think. XD she was the cutest, but I drew her worst. -_-
It bothers me that the new version of her looks like a mix of the girls in the series. She has Mei Ling's face ponytail, and microphone thing, the color of EVA's clothes and hair, and The Boss' bandana. At first I thought she was a readhead. And like her name implies, she's really pale....

This girl's style is so tacky. >_< It's so... 80's. Haha. Wouldn't blame her. It was drawn in the 80's. She had feelings for Snake, but never confessed them. She reminds me of a female Cloud here.

Well canon or no canon, or the fact that Meryl left him of Snake did, they did not end up together.
Even if Johny is sympatetic to me, I feel their marriage and realationship a little bit forced, I mean the story of them feels a little forced. And John is more or less similar phisycally to Snake, maybe because the genes he received for the genoma soldiers project and maybe that is the reason Meryl fell in love with him ...because he looks like young Snake.
We can say our Snake is a man hard to catch XD!!! What you think?

yeah, that's exactly how I feel. :< I think Johnny genuinely loves Meryl, but I don't know if Meryl feels the same way about him....
When I first saw a screenshot of Johnny's face I thought it was the Young Snake that everyone was talking about. D: So I won't be surprised if Meryl is reminded of Snake because of Johnny.

I also think the same, I think Johnny loves her until death and she maybe married him because the marriage party (it was her big dream since childhood) was her dream not him XD Or maybe she thinks is Snake eheh
Are you playing right now a Metar gear game? Im playing for PSP Peace walker, but im confused if he is Big boss or Snake XD since we have a similar character to Otacon.

Actually I thought that was very out of character for Meryl to say. :/ As a kid, she was always too focused on wanting to become a soldier and she was never interested in anyone.... until Snake.

Exactly I don't think Meryl had time to dream about her wedding day... that is why I think their relationship is forced.
I will ask you later what do you think of Peace walker, but it's interesting how Kojima works really good with the time... so for instance there is Big boss and this Huey and their kind of friendship and in future there will be Snake and Otakon. But I think in this Peace walker game the characters have a deep psicological profile, at least as what I've seen so far this Big Boss shows many human feelings and facts that you couldn't imagine in a tough soldier like him. For instance you can see his musical taste listening to his walkman, and this strong feeling of respect or love for the Boss.... do you think is love or just respect for a great teacher? XD I'll keep playing....until the end. Which is your favorite metal gear game?

The Boss' and Snake's relationship confuses me. Honestly. I don't know if it's something romantic, or if it's just pure motherly/mentor love. Or both.
There's a hint to the Boss having romantic feelings for Snake. At the end of MGS3, EVA says "She wanted you to look at her... not as a soldier, but as a woman...but she was forbidden to tell you herself"
Now that was the very same line that Emma in MGS2 said to Otacon when she was dying.
She said something like, "I wanted you to look at me...as a woman"
This hinted that she was confessing her love for Otacon, because then he says...
"E.E... You know I can never do that"
"Don't be so honest. It...hurts."
I don't know how far you've made it into PeaceWalker, but Strangelove kept naming The Boss as "your [Snake's] beloved."
It can go both ways depends on how you interpret it. Honestly though, I would much rather think of the whole Snake/Boss thing as a motherly type of love.
As for my favorite game.... that's tough! *_* I think it's a tie between MGS1 and MGS3 for me. :3

The Snake/Meryl ending is canon...yet for some reason Snake begins MGS2 with the optic camoflauge you get for letting Meryl die in MGS1. Hmmmm....

But there's nothing like thinking something like this for a duration of a series and then the producer goes 'Nah, it's too predictable' and shoots down what every fan believed for more than a decade.

I don't know if it worked for the good. I kind of find it really hard for Old Snake with Meryl, you know? I guess I'll just stick to supporting it in MGS1.

True fan ^^ Not only Meryl loved Snake... it's good that there's some people that knows Metal Gear very well. Very nice art, and it fits nice to Snake's attitude ( for example : during Shadow Moses, even after falling in love with Meryl, Snake mash with Mei Ling a little bit XD; or other : Snake mash with Naomi - I hold you do that doctor; and then mash with Mei Ling during their first conversation XD ). Oh yes I am. 8D I haven't played MG and MG2 (I can't find the Original MGS3:subsistence), but I was enough of a fan to watch it all on YouTube. @_@ It was a bit boring... but whatever. XDD;
Yeah, he's a player in denial. XD; I was thinking of including Naomi and Mei Ling in here but Naomi hated Snake while Mei Ling didn't seem to mind Meryl at all.
But I did read the script of a Metal Gear radio drama. It involved Snake and Mei Ling going on a mission, and when Meryl found out she got jealous. XDDD
