Another Metal Gear fanart. Sorry to those who won't understand
Anyway, I was bored and this popped into my mind. XD As all of you who have played MGS know, the Meryl ending is the official ending, and SnakexMeryl is canon.
But sometime before the MGS2 timeline, they apparently broke up for some unknown reason... o-o
This would be one of my crazy guesses.
Most likely it would be obsolete by the time MGS4 is released this June. Hopefully they'll reveal why. Anyway, those girls behind Meryl are women from the first two Metal Gear games who have had some feelings for him.
Took some artistic license in drawing them, so sorry if they suck.

Apparently Snake and Holly had mutual feelings for each other. Meryl's most pissed about her, I think. XD she was the cutest, but I drew her worst. -_-
It bothers me that the new version of her looks like a mix of the girls in the series. She has Mei Ling's face ponytail, and microphone thing, the color of EVA's clothes and hair, and The Boss' bandana. At first I thought she was a readhead. And like her name implies, she's really pale....

This girl's style is so tacky. >_< It's so... 80's. Haha. Wouldn't blame her. It was drawn in the 80's. She had feelings for Snake, but never confessed them. She reminds me of a female Cloud here.
Sorry about the stupid lettering/inking -_- . Haven't really drawn comics in a long time. So if the text is difficult to read:

GB was Non-canon so as far as I could deduce from it, it was a retelling of the Shadow Moses adventure with elements of the first game in a jungle setting Similar to the Original outer haven.

The intention of my drawing was to draw every other woman before MGS1 that fell for Snake. So if Ghost Babel was before MGS1, I would have considered putting her in.

I understand its the premis but for me I thought the joke was every girl who wanted to DO snake, from cannon to Non-cannon series since snake really gets around.
well ive only met one other and he's the one who made that pic for me.
owch, thats a shame because its great, it handles great (for MGS standerds) and closes up EVERY loop hole in the plot, its the second best MGS (3 will always be my favorite)
im glad you find my idea interesting =^_^= its storyline takes place a few years before MGS4 so theres bad spoilers. the next member of the SQUIDS "Scout Squid" is one her way soon but being a MGS fan ill let you know her name is Salena Pliskin, if you can guess her backstory at all then your my new buddy

Meryl and Snake broke up as if you listern in MGS 2 when looking at Olga in the tanker chapter (the boat one) he says 'i've had enough of tomboys' plus may be a spoiler but Meryl marrys Jonny Sasaki (the guy who's constantly having diareea in MGS 1 2 and his grandad i MGS 3 and a mamber of FOX in MGS4

Yeah... I drew this with the tomboy thing in mind. Maybe he was not the one who broke up with him, he was saying that out of his bitterness at Meryl.
And yes, I also know of Meryl marrying Johnny Sasaki.

Too bad we didn't find out about Snake and Meryl breakup on MGS4. But there's a particular aspect about why they went separated.
After Shadow Moses, I guess Meryl and Snake shared their time together in Alaska, and eventually Snake was hitting the bottle, being selfish or inconsequent in certain aspect. I guess Meryl dumped him out by that reason.
Still, I find out very funny and cute this piece in particular (Holly White looks awesome). It's rare on these days to find out people who know about MG2, such an underrated masterpiece.

Well, that line was a LIE. A liieeee, I tell you!!!! I'm sure he was interested in a lot of lives (girls)... but he wanted to keep that "I'm cool" act and said that line instead. >_>
I mean, he flirts with just about every girl in the games he's been in.

Maybe he tries to keep himself lonely, but at the same time he get his attention of girls by flirting with them...
He wants to keep distance. I don't think it's a "I'm cool" act. I thinks it's what he feels about getting closer. He figured he's not really able to have a relationship which lasts longer (since he's difficult to handle), and that makes him dissapointed about himself. That's why he set a border saying things like this. He's afraid of falling in love because that means a broken heart as well - maybe he's fed up with that... (which is understandable since I'm sure he had problems or nightmares etc. because of war and stuff as well...)
It's not really a lie. In view of the reasons there's truth behind it. :>

It must be difficult for him to trust anyone. Well, being a soldier and all... and his past of getting betrayed(not necessarily by a woman, but by his comrades) That's why he lived only for himself.

Hmmn... he was around 33 in MGS1... I think MGS4 is set ten years after the Shadow Moses incident... if so, that would make him 43. XP
Anyway, I'm not sure what year it was set in, but you could calculate it. The Snakes were born in 1972.
