Description
Remember those lil Dinos that you brutally crush on Mario World? Well they're back and better than ever! With a new looking Rex to boot!-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rex: That’s a Rex. It’s a dinosaur-like creature similar to a Yoshi, but it’s a lot more violent and unpleasant to be around. This one works for the A.B.M., so it’s even more vicious than the rest of its species -but it bit off more than it can chew today!
HP: 4
ATK: 2
DEF: 0
Special: Multi-Fire Spit, Fly.
Additional Notes: Be careful if you jump on a Rex - it’ll get squished, which makes it angry enough to start spitting two fireballs instead of one. If flattened even more, it’ll spit three fireballs at a time - and it won’t lose any ATK when flat, so that barrage will hurt like the dickens. Hammer attacks would be a good idea, but it can fly for a little while…in stark defiance of physics. If we’ve no choice but to flatten a Rex, try to boost our DEF somehow; since it attacks multiple times, reducing the damage of each fireball could go a long way to keeping us alive!
Relic Rex: This is a Relic Rex, a Rex made of solid stone. Judging by what we’ve seen so far, I think those Wizzerds must’ve created it with their magic to deter “snoopers” like us. Whatever the case, it makes for quite the effective guard; be careful around any statues you see around here, Mario…
HP: 6
ATK: 3
DEF: 1
Special: ATK-Up, Fly, Charge.
Additional Notes: Apart from magic-based versions of the organic Rex’s fireballs, a Relic Rex can charge at us to hit us both at once. Being made of rock and all, it has some serious DEF - we’ll have to chip away at it slowly. And that itself could be a problem; as it takes damage, the magic powering it will leak out and increase the strength of its attacks! Like a normal Rex, it can boost itself twice in this way - if it maxes out its power, it’ll cut through our HP with ease! DEF boosts won’t be as effective against this version of the Rex, since it only hits once for big damage, so try to use Piercing attacks to get past its strong DEF.
Rage Rex: This is a Rage Rex, a Rex with extreme anger issues. Now, that is par for the course when it comes to these creatures, but this particular Rex was exiled to the volcano because even its fellow Rexes thought it was too angry. That’s...pretty darn angry if you ask me.
HP: 8
ATK: 5
DEF: 1
Special: Multi-Fire Spit, Squash Boost, Fly, Charge.
Additional Notes: The Rage Rex attacks with the usual charges and fireballs, the latter of which it spits in multiples as it gets flatter. Try to hammer this thing when you can, because being squished makes it angry enough to raise its stats! The first flattening raises its ATK, and the second boosts its SPD, so it can hit hard AND fast at minimum size. ...Seriously though, this thing was too angry by Rex standards...I almost wish I knew a good therapist to recommend to it, because that level of rage can’t be healthy.
Dead Rex: That’s a Dead Rex, a zombified Rex that stalks the Phantom Forest. It was reanimated by an unknown power, which I strongly suspect to be raw force of anger. ...Okay, it’s probably this bizarre forest instead, but I maintain that it’s entirely possible it was able to reanimate its own rotting corpse simply by being that angry when it died.
HP: 12
ATK: 6
DEF: 2
Special: Multi-Fire Spit, Squash Boost, Fly, Charge, Unflatten.
The Dead Rex still spits fire, charges at us, and takes flight to become hammer-proof, but flattening it gives it some massive bonuses. The first time you squish it, it gets boosted ATK and SPD, while the second time ups its NUM; throw in three fireballs per turn at minimum size, and we’re looking at up to a dozen attacks in a single turn! To top it off, a fully-flattened Dead Rex can gradually unflatten itself; if it returns to full size, it’ll regain most of its HP! Hrrm…if it wasn’t already dead, I’d sue it for cheating...as it is, let’s just pound it into the ground, Mario!

That Relic Rex is new, and holy Arceus, these things actually look tough.

Believe me. These Rex's are all about revenge.

Uh...Brian? Where are their stats? We're not quite sure how the power scaling works in this game, so we left that for you to fill in.
Apart from that, these are definitely upgrades for the raging reptiles. They look a lot more like their SMW selves instead of the "Yoshi-derivatives" you had previously, and the Relic Rex looks remarkably like it's actually made of stone (or at least cardboard, which is kind of the same thing in the Paper-Marioverse). They still sound tough as heck to fight, too - do they ever appear in groups?

...We talking groups of 2, 3, 4...or 5?
Also, check the tattle doc when you have time. We noticed something interesting that needs clarification, if you please.
