Description Quicksand in the Fujin Desert is not visibly recognizable and is more camouflaged than traditional quicksand.  Only darker patches of sand point out the danger.  Young Shaya, four years old, had gone out for a trek in the hot desert only to unfortunately stumble into the swallowing sand, which is what the desert quicksand is notoriously known as due to not even Catas Tribe natives daring to explore the desert.  Will the warm sand consume the little girl completely?  Or can she be saved somehow?

"if it's meant to be the back of a hand."

I intended for it to be the front of a hand.

Then, it would look like that the girl had two left hands (or is it right hands). ^-^'

First of all, it seems to be that you are struggling with the sand in the background, It looks too neat going lighter to darker, and the colours do not fit. Try to make the land more un-planned and more natural, not usually wavy lines.
However, the sand at the front is quiet detailed, but I do not understand how this connects to the background, it looks more like a lump then the natural quick sand on the ground.

Going onto the girl, it feels like you've drawn a bit of her and then cropped it. Maybe put some large strands of hair sticking out on the sand to make it better, or try and make the persons head go up, not forwards.

The expression is very good, with the slight tears and wide mouth, just one thing, When us hoomanz talk, our jaws stretch, making our face go wider, meaning that her face would also wider, so the chin would go lower down.
The hairs a bit poofy, I don't know if that's just what its like or not, but it just seems a little bit off.
Your doing well at simple shading and the lighting seems to be improving a lot!
Not knowing if you've studied hand art or art in general, the hand is very VERY well structured, it has mostly good size and its well structured.

Be proud of this piece, it is very good! Keep doing what you love!

over all the coloring seems ok, but you seem to (like me) struggle with sans and background. looking up reference and such can definitely help.

As for the person the hair seems to be completely detached or hovering from the head, for that i suggest looking up tutorials or looking at anime and cartoons witch is what you seem to going for.

The expression and face are ok on anatomy even if the nose seems oddly placed, the hair distracting greatly.

the hand, i will say i can't see any lines or markings, its just an outline and that makes it very hard to tell what direction its going. once again tutorials and reference will help greatly improve your drawing.

over all ts a good piece even with its flows, keep the creativity flowing!

This indeed looks like peril on all kinds of perspective and the way you separated the quicksand from the regular sand is certainly something. The emotion on the girl's face just screams help and unfortunately help is a lost cause. The one thing I have to critique you on is the way the girl is pictured. I can see the neck and the body as it sinks so it feels like the girl is rising from the sand than sinking into the sand. First time critiquing a piece like this and this is certainly something that's a job well done.

Been a while since I’ve been here. I really wanna RP this But I am not entirely sure if you’d be okay with Soy, my Pokémon OC.
If you aren’t I can try to find a different character frappe this RP.

If you're able to make an OC adjust to the environment and setting, then it's okay.  However, I wouldn't want any Pokemon themselves to get involved.

I just don't think they would blend in too well given that there are already Mythos on the island of Misla.  Not to mention, given the supernatural abilities of Pokemon and Fakemon alike, it's kind of cheating to throw them in depending on what we're doing.

Fair enough. I’ll use the OC but I’ll leave his Pokémon out of this.

Also I just noticed that auto-correct made my first comment extremely stupid but I guess you knew what I wanted to say.

Anyway ONWARD!

So Shaya is sinking in the sand...

Turn 25:  The Thunder

Young Shaya:  Hmm?  Well, at first glance, it's an ordinary town, but it serves as a hub for refugees.  The islanders who established the town are either children or descendants of warriors from the war-ravaged island of Darkna.  I think it was at least a quarter of a century ago that Darkna islanders first came to Misla to establish new homes.  Unfortunately, the Catas Tribe, the original natives of Misla, did not welcome us.  The Darkna islanders were strangers in need of food and shelter, and the natives did not welcome us.  They threatened the islanders to go back to their own island or perish.  The islanders unwillingly went to war to save their own skins and pushed the natives back.  A young man named Sheath led the islanders to victory and ultimately spared the lives of the natives... but sadly, that was his undoing.  When the Catas Tribe returned with a vengeance, they had summoned the uber-powerful Beastking Dragon to aid them.  Sheath was no match and fell in battle, but his wife, Sarla, a former native, summoned the Ten Spirits to defeat the Beastking Dragon.  The Ten Spirits then turned on the islanders, predicting that the ways of the Catas Tribe would soon be the ways of the human race.  Sarla sealed them away, but at the cost of all her life energy... or so the story goes as I remember being told.  When I first came to Rune Town, the refugees believed that I had been raised by fairies... because of this...

TheThunder-Art In reply to TJackKnife [2018-01-04 01:05:05 +0000 UTC]

Turn 27:  The Thunder

Young Shaya:  It's possible that they are consumed by their own greed and the darkness in their hearts.  Being the original natives, they've strongly believed that Misla belongs only to them and that outsiders would bring destruction with them.  However, it seems that only the men seem to be corrupted.  The women and children in the village are said to not be treated very well.

Turn 28: TJK

Soy: Surely there has to be some way to change that.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheThunder-Art In reply to TJackKnife [2018-01-04 01:13:03 +0000 UTC]

Turn 29:  The Thunder

Young Shaya:  As of now, there's no solution.  The only reason the islanders have considered killing all the native men is because of what happened to Sheath when he showed them mercy.  The islanders think that something is tainting the men, as the women have gone out of their way to raise their children to be different, yet every boy grows up to become an evil man.  It wasn't long after I came to Rune Town before Ren taught me how to use a sword and to cast magic spells.  Rune Town consists of townswarriors who are fiercely trained for their own survival.  Even children have to be taught at tender ages because when the Catas Tribe natives attack, they spare no one.

TheThunder-Art In reply to TJackKnife [2018-01-04 01:26:13 +0000 UTC]

Turn 31:  The Thunder

Young Shaya:  Whatever it is, it must prey on the darkness in the hearts of mankind.  The native men have more power over women and so they end up raising the boys to become evil like themselves, taught to be greedy and unrelenting.
