i love how it got a DD too. But seriously, it's a very nice tutorial, and i find people totally not knowing about DD-s at all at least 1 time a day. They should have a 'Suggest a DD' button on the picture's page tho that sends the note to the right category automatically tho. i'd love that

How long does it usually take for a moderator to put a DD suggestion into effect? I'm sure they might all do it differently, but do you keep a list, for example?

Every moderator has a different process just as you say so it varies, it depends of how many suggetions the moderator receives and how many features they make (not all moderators feature as often as others) As for me, it usually takes me from a few days to a couple of weeks to check and feature a chosen suggestion.

You can always ask
Besides that, well the icon of a sent note changes from yellow to gray after it was read, that way you can know when a note was already checked. If you see your note was already checked and you didn't receive a reply after a few days you can send it to another GM.

Well I'm glad to hear that, really!
Every GM is different, and there isn't a standard for how we manage our suggestions. Some reply, some don't. Some will tell you if they're gonna pick your suggestions, some won't. The response time if any, also varies. Since there isn't a protocol for this, the only way to find out is to ask directly to the GM. Good news is that we don't bite

I don't get many viewers to my portfolio, however when I get comments (quite rare) they are often very good.
However with low viewing numbers I presume it could take years or perhaps never before I my work is selected for a DD which I presume would bring me more viewers of my work.
Does suggesting other peoples work for a DD make you more likely to be selected for a DD? Still having difficulties in navigating this site.
I never realised how to select a DD therefore this information has been very helpful.

What I am saying is without many people looking at my pictures what hope have I got of ever getting a DD? I presume it is against the rules to put my own work forward because nobody else is going to?
I will have to suggest someone for a DD and see if I can get my head around the system.
