Description
When I make fan comics, I usually draw about events that are not likely to be fully explained in the actual show.Things that could kind of fit in in the canon.
This time I made something different based on a very persistent headcanon I've had since the beginning of volume 4.
The story behind this comic explained shortly:
Em and Merc are flying over Beacon Tower with their airship.
Suddenly, they see a bright white flash and Ruby leaping towards Cinder who seems to be frozen in time and unable to dodge Ruby's attack.
In a blink of an eye, Cinder is lying in a pool of blood a few meters from where she originally stood.
Em begs Merc to turn the ship around but Merc is like "Yeah hell no she's already dead."
Em jumps off the ship and lands between Cinder and Ruby.
A quick fight happens and Ruby breaks Em's weapons into a million pieces.
Em crawls beside Cinder and protects the fallen maiden with her own body.
Seeing both his comrades in a pinch, Merc has a change of heart. He reluctantly turns the airship around.
Ruby lifts her scythe for one final blow but immediately collapses due to extreme headache.
Merc lands the airship on top of the tower and rushes out to help the two ladies.
I'm well-aware that my headcanon will probably be 100% wrong and this comic ignores the fact that Weiss was nearby, too
but this comic turned out better than I expected and I finally got a chance to draw Crescent Rose <3 Oh... and I guess Ruby is there too. (Just kidding. Rubes is precious and I love her, too. ~)
But goddammit Cinder... You still don't know how to lesbian, do you?
First you wake Emerald up. Then you tell her " I love you too." Then you give her a kiss. Then you let her sleep next to you in bed and then you spoon all night. (No actual spoons involved this time.)
But I guess a simple, honest "thank you" is progress!

Huh, interesting. Especially considering 90% of my content has (and will continue to have) Cinder in it.
She doesn't, because Cinder wouldn't do that in this story. This is a part of my AU, after all. Cinder really needs Emerald in her life, even though she's is trying her best to ignore Emerald's feelings.
Cinder wants to be strong and powerful, and affection is making her feel vulnerable.
I sort of explained the situation in "Evil Princess and the Street Rat"
Most of these comic strips are connected. I just made a separate folder for the entire story, so that all my Cinder/Emerald comics are in chronological order now.
But... if we assume Cinder would somehow need to sacrifice Emerald in order to survive, Emerald would rather die for the woman who saved her than
let Cinder die. it's all about that deadly devotion.
I could only see this happening if Salem specifically ordered Cinder to get rid of her minions to test her loyalty.
Emerald is still a valuable asset to team evil with her semblance, so that would be dumb tbh.

hmm...interesting. you know TigerPaw some people think the relationship between Cinder and Emerald is one-sided, because of the smack that heard in vol-3. what they don't realize is just because someone puts their hands on you doesn't always mean that they don't care about you.
( i mean in Rwby chibi she set Mercury on fire for making demands and threatening him for disrespecting her) even if Rwby chibi not canon it's not hard to believe she would do that. compare that to smacking Emerald it's..( oh no, it's abuse, their relationship is sooo~ one-sided seriously give me a break)
Cinder obviously has a different relationship with emerald than she does with Roman and Mercury( whether they like it or not).
for instance...
Emerald could say she Loves Cinder right to her face and Cinder could be all like...
Cinder: uh huh...
if Mercury said i love you to Cinder well...
Cinder:...Are you high or something...
Emerald could sleep in the same bed or eat off the same plate as Cinder and Cinder wouldn't care.
She could hug and kiss Cinder and Cinder wouldn't be fazed by it.
All i can see Cinder doing is telling Emerald to stop with the PDA...
But we all know if it were Mercury he would get a swift fist in the face...(and that's not being mean to Mercury i can just see that happening).
Honestly, this relationship Emerald has with Cinder is that of a Mother with her Child( or an older sister with her younger sister)...
Even so...there is still grounds for punishment ...that doesn't mean Cinder doesn't care for Emerald.

Aww, this almost makes me want to stop loving to hate Cinder. Sadly, past actions have tipped that scale far to the opposite end. Oh well, still hoping we see a lot more of her next season.

Yeah, me too. I mean, I know she´s a freaking psycho who´d destroy an entire city and trigger a chain reaction that would lead to the end of humanity as we know it (after all, that´s LITERALLY what she already did), but I can´t help but look forward to more episodes with her. Not so much because of her, though, but because of those she interacts with. Especially Emerald.
With all we´ve seen of Cinder, I´d actually expect her to tell Emerald that she´s of no use anymore and give her an hour to pack her things before she has to go back to where they first me. Sure, Cinder would do the same with Mercury in this case, but just the thought of this might be enough to get Emerald to strife towards power so that Cinder keeps her around.
I´ve already worked on a fanfiction where Emerald uses her semblace to provoke one argument between Cinder and Tyrian after the other, with the goal of, and that´s where it gets really dangerous, making Salem mad. Emerald then suggests that perhaps Tyrian would like if he had a prostetic stinger. Arthur (Dr. Watts) then sais that he could do it, but he needs the right material AND information from the servers of the Atlas Military.
Emerald goes to get it, and when she returns, she asks Salem if there´s anything else that could be done. After several missions, some of which include surviving in the Grimm-infested land around Salem´s castle for a certain time, Salem sends Emerald, as well as Tyrian, to capture the Spring Maiden.
During the entire fight, Emerald keeps her distance and uses her semblance to make the Spring Maiden see and hear her (Emerald) everywhere. After the Spring Maiden´s aura is completely gone, Tyrian paralyzes her with his poison to ge ther back to Salem. Emerald, however, kills the Spring Maiden, who now thinks only of Emerald, and gains her powers. Tyrian is pretty mad that Emerald disobeyed a direct order from Salem (capture the Spring Maiden alive), but Emerald sais that they captured her alive, and that the new Spring Maiden, namely herself, is less trouble getting to Salem´s castle than the old one, since they don´t have to explain why they carry around a half dead woman.
Back in the castle, Salem asks where the Spring Maiden is, and Emerald just shows off her powers a little. After explaining everything to Salem, Emerald gets to training her new-found powers, eventually getting into sparring with Cinder. Needless to say, Salem tells them to go literally anywhere other than inside her castle when they have a sparring match.

Oh yeah, no. I really look forward to seeing more Cinder. It was interesting seeing that drop in Cinder's confidence, the same person who committed such acts of terrorism with messed up levels of aloofness. That is what has me hooked on wondering where they're gonna go with her.

Wow...it's fanart like this that makes me realize how much of a good accomplice Katara was to Zuko. It's a shame what Ryuko Matoi did to him, even if he killed Yoko Littner in V3.

well made. Makes me almost feel sorry for her. ALMOST! She killed my favorite character so I hope she has a real nice death (preferably by jaune stabbing a sword through her gut). I understand why you like her but she isn't like Locus from RVB. She is past the point of redemption.

Oh, I really liked Pyrrha, too! But guess since I knew right from the start that she was meant to die sooner rather than later, I was
"happy" she died like she did (...sounds terrible when I put it like that). Fighting a maiden on her own, as a warrior.
I couldn't imagine her dying any other way f.ex. by Grimm or in the hands of any other character.
To me, no character is irredeemable until the show's over or at least until we know everything there is to
know about the character and their motivations. But maybe that's just me.
Besides, we have magic and world-altering relics and stuff in the show.
I really hope they won't take the "we used them relics, so it never happened" route, though.... that would be cheap.
I do agree, however, that Cinder will very likely die at some point. Eiher at the end of the Mistral arc or
much, much later. She's a key character after all. Or at least Salem's key to victory, whatever that means.

I know what you mean. I knew that some of our favorite characters were going to die at some point but i felt that pyrrhas death was too soon. I'm ok with characters i like dying. IE ace from one piece, makarov in fairy tale, itachi in naruto and so on. But I felt her death was used purely to have ruby do her silver eyes thing. like how krillin died in dbz to make goku go super saiyan you know what I mean? Also when monty was alive(RIP) he stated that none of the main cast was supposed to die until after like the 6th season. I think she was killed off too early when we were finally getting more character development from her. And then shes dead. A little too soon IMO.

Well, this is really good. You portrayed the emotion really well.
And I have to say that, even if this doesn't happen in the official series, I do think this is how Emerald feels about Cinder. Granted, I think it might be more along the lines of loving Cinder as a mother surrogate or big sister figure, but putting aside the fact that the romantic attachment is plausible, it still doesn't take away how sweet and heartfelt this comic is.

I couldn't agree more. Cinder is definitely a big sister figure to Emerald (and Mercury). No doubt about it. Cinderella and her step-siblings.
And it's really cute. They're like a weird little family that does evil things together.
I obviously see some romantic undertones in Emerald's behavior towards Cinder. Maybe I've watched/read too much shoujo-ai and yuri. xD
It's because of the common "Onee-sama"-trope. Notice me, "big sister"!
"An idol-follower relationship between young women, usually signifying extreme adoration on the part of the follower" as the tv-tropes puts it.
That being said, I'll be happy with whatever their relationship turns out to be in the actual show.
Hopefully they'll stick together until the very end.

Oh yeah, definetly. And it is kind of cute and twisted altogether. Hopefully, this'll show they go against the villains (maybe more of a "we need to survive" way) and get something of a happy ending in the official release.
Ah, maybe. I mean, a lot of people say they see subtext with characters they ship. 
Oh yeah, I do remember that. And I can see Emerald having that attitude, be it romantic or just out of respect and gratitude for Cinder.

It might not come to you as a surprise but I strongly disagree.
Sure, karma happened but the price was paid. It looks like Ruby nearly took Cinder's life.
( From the heroes' perspective: The less human blood Ruby has in her hands the better. She needs to retain her innocence as long as possible.)
Besides, Cinder's story and motives are still pretty much a mystery.
Also, these certain events during the night Beacon fell were left out on purpose. I have a strong feeling that
there will be some major twists in the next couple of volumes. I could be wrong, though. But things might not be all black and white....

No amount of sob story in their past will ever make me think Cinder and Emerald don't deserve to die. At best they get their aura's locked forever and rot in jail for the rest of their lives.
They killed countless people. They made their grave and they'll have to lie in it. They don't get to have second thoughts because they thought they were consequence free and suddenly don't like that they weren't as almighty as they thought.
Things might not be black and white as far as Salem vs Ozpin but killing innocents is always black and murdering Pyrrha in cold blood just because Cinder felt like being cruel is an unforgivable sin.
I really would like to see just how she possibly could spin anything in a way that will ever make Ruby and Jaune not want her head on a plate. Jaune's life will never be the same. Ruby's innocence is already gone.

The recent revelations about the Maiden powers, how a piece of the previous weilder ends up in the new maiden, might stay their hand. After all, brief as it was, Pyrrha -did- link with the maiden powers.

I can't help it... it's always the bad girls I tend to gravitate towards. Especially if they can potentially be more than
just typical Disney villains (who are great in their own way, too, even if they're usually not all that fleshed out as characters.)
Hopefully RT will give this trio (yes, even Merc) more screentime in the future and tell us more
about their past. Cinder is still pretty much a mystery...

For those who hate her, yeah. And I completely understand why most fans would like to see her suffer.
That being said, I'm obviously a Cinder- fangirl so I don't find her pain all that enjoyable to watch.
I mean... we don't even know her story yet but if Cinder is anything like

Her suffering is definitely far from over... I'm half-expecting the maiden's power itself turning out to be some soul-consuming curse

Ya'know, I felt bad for cinder when I saw her in vol 4. She lost one eye, lost her voice, and she can't stand for herself (cuz thank you Dr watts D:<) but anyways, the point that I like to lay out is that we see cinder as this unlikable bastard for she has done but to emerald, she's her saviour, because cinder was the one that pulled her out the streets and saved her when no one came for her.
Anyways, just wanted to point that out and peace out!

Sure, Emerald didn't seem very happy about the destruction of Vale and she also finds Salem's place
really disturbing BUT despite everything, Cinder is still the only person in this cruel world
she cares about.
