Description
After the Nilgaardian Empire invaded the Northern Kingdoms after a series of assassinations killing off several of the Northern kings, effectively rendering many of them unorganized and thus unable to defend themselves against the sudden invasion from the south. Some kingdoms continued a crumbling struggle against the invaders up until a few months ago, when Radovid V. of Redania turned on his allies, annexing them and their military forces. He was now able to force the Nilfgaardians to a temporary stalemate, competing with them over controll of the city of Novigrad and it's immense navy and financial resources.

Another developement is the brutal campaign against users of magic in Redania. People burn on stakes in every major city within the territory controlled by the Redanians and the Church of the Eternal Fire holding more power then ever. To some it is obvious, that Radovid's madness is growing further on an ever faster pace, but to most he is the last remaining symbol of hope for a free North and a victory over Nilfgaard.
