Hey, don't be a jerk. Pixel art is a lot harder than it looks. Not only that, but he did it at a HUGE scale for pixel art - there are 151008 pixels in this piece. And when you're doing a piece pixel by pixel, 151008 is a lot of pixels. You try and do better.
That being said, I suggest you stop your whining, and don't post comments like this on the artist's submission. It's insulting and rude.

Wow, you're a douche. Do you know how hard it is to pixel art? Not only that, but this looks perfect for a game. The details are epic. It's okay to think that there are more epic pictures out there, but don't fucking complain about it on the page and attack both the DD-chooser and the artist.

This isn't a drawing, it's all pixel work, made pixel by pixel, by one dude. That dude happens to be the guy who posted the pic.
The detail and color palette is perfect for the picture.
So I'd say that unless you can do better, you don't even have the right to think about talking down about the artist's work.
Besides, any self-respecting artist knows that insulting a talented artist's work is never beneficial to either party.
They didn't even CHOOSE to have this featured as a DD, yet your senseless insult to the 'worthiness' of their work is sent straight to the artist themselves, not the person who featured the piece.

Why post this on the deviation? The artist had no control over the decision making. It is rude to post this kind of thing on their art.
If you have a problem with how DDs are picked, talk to the people who actually do the picking.

You have a lovely pixel-art technique! Works like this are what make me enjoy classical pixel-art so much ^^ You did a great job, and in isometry no less (I personally haven't dared go down that road yet...). I'm going to watch you right now so I can see whatever you do in the future.

I haven't played any sort of computer game in years and years, but the style of this brings back fond memories of the game 'Shining Force' for the old Megadrive!!!

It's good to see some traditional pixel art being put under the spotlight.
Great job with your pixel clusters, very clean and simplified and easy to read, yet you retain a lot of visual information in the scenery.
Your choice of contrast is spot-on: the characters come forward and are seen as the focal point before everything else, all without tearing out of the scene. The eye moves around to selective objects that I can tell you intentionally gave focus to with darker color.
