I chose this song because swirls.
Honestly, I have no clue what the crap the song is actually ABOUT, I have no good interpretation for anything they are saying, (something about ships) but at the same time. . . swirls. That’s the vocals you see, the swirling green at the center, the drawn out knooooooow” in the song, where the pitch of his voice goes up and down and up and down. The yellow/purple space shaped kinda like an infinity sign is the title verse, Inspectors or inspectors,” , which continues on, “won’t guide you through it,” which make the spaces on the right, middle, left.

The riff starts top left, the two curved bars, then the bottom two, then there’s a quick space going top left to bottom right. I tried to do a lot with gradiation from one color to another in this piece, like you can see, green turning into purple in a fairly small space, and yellow turning purple, which is a bit I’m particularly proud of, especially since I didn’t even realize I could do it until recently.

If you haven’t figured it out, when I say I’m doing a lot of experimenting, I’m talking about the way I’m using color and blending from one into another. I made it a point that my last two pieces had exactly no black/grey because really, aside from particularly strong drumbeats and bass notes, there is no straight black/grey in music. So these are my first all-color pieces, but that’s because I was a little afraid the lines wouldn’t be as smooth as I like. You can’t really erase prismacolor, at least not the way you can with a graphite pencil. I’m kind of proud at how smooth I got these lines, actually. I was a bit scared to try the sort of gradiation I’m using now, too, but that worked out really well.
