Oh, man! This is strangely one of Miyazaki's more obscure works, but I liked it all the same. Had a bigger sense of classic adventure than his other stories do which I'm not against. I'll be sure to check out the art book!

yea i love these classic adventure type stories, makes me feel nostalgic
this movie was actually directed byΒ Hiroyuki Morita, which is why its abit different to some of the other ghbli films.

Oh, that explains it. Yeah, it seemed somewhat straightforward for a regular Miyazaki movie. But yeah, it was just great seeing one done in the style. I got a lot of the same vibes from The Cat Returns in Ni no Kuni for that reason.
And of course! I'm having a blast looking through your more fantasy oriented illustrations, by the by.

When i first saw this film , i felt a connection of this to " Whisper of the Heart" and then i googled it and found out -they made this film from the story Shizuku (protagonist from whisper of the heart) wrote. The story is fromΒ Hiroyuki Morita's story board.Β
