Description This character belongs to ! Really been wanting to draw one of his charries for a while. I've been on quite a roll in terms of character art today, but I fully finished Grororg's piece, so feeling pretty happy with it.

Below is a bit of a different take on his bio...since it's actually a dialogue between Liliel and Dr. Karkan, his creator. Mostly because Liliel has some...VERY unique things to say about it.

---------------------------------------

Liliel: Oh...my ZIZ....w-wha...? What...IS that...?

Dr. Karkan: Ahhahaha...so...you've seen my new product. One of my greatest, yet worst creations of all time! A crowning moment for Elvish Supremacy, that would be pounding you all to a pulp, were it not for JUST one minor caveat. Are you as disappointed as I am?

Liliel: I...K-Karkan...

...this is an absolutely incredible feat!

Dr. Karkan: AHA, yes, I knew you wo--

...what?

Kassandra: Wh...L-Liliel, why are you praising this crab-assed excuse for an Elf?!

Liliel: Wait no, I'm not praising him as a person! He's still a scumbag! But l-like...guys, just THINK for a moment on what he's just done. REALLY think about it. Can you guess what it is?

Toma: Play Ziz, utterly profane the laws of nature and create a Chimera? Honestly, that's what I'm seeing here, Lils.

Liliel: Alright, alright, hear me out.

-----------------------------

Liliel: Putting that and Dr. Karkan's personality aside, this man has created a chimera from FIVE separate, unrelated animals. Rhinoceros, Crocodile, Shark, Bear, Lion--if he just tried stitching them together, it'd be a mess of limbs and incompatible blood and organs that rejects its own body until it dies. What you're seeing here is not a patchwork creature constantly in terrible agony.

No, this is a seamless fusion of all five with unique internal anatomy. Obviously, this creature isn't combined from actual animals, but it is vat-grown if I'm not mistaken. Which means Dr. Karkan would have had to calculate what genetic sequences would lead to the creation of each and every single bodily feature this creature has, internal and external, and what chemical reactions would need to take place inside the vat to encourage its body's cells to grow like that. As it is, this is a process that requires extremely precise examination of genetic matter as it's developing. All of this, he had managed to do using a SUPREMELY primitive piece of junk vat system, which makes that process all the more painstaking. As in, imagine watching paint dry with a microscope, and needing to use an equally microscopic brush to keep the paint JUST the right color.

All of THAT done completely alone, with no research team or AI to assist him.

OH! And not to mention, this creature not only has features entirely unique to it, such as humanoid intelligence and skin that measures a perfect 10 on the Mohs Hardness Scale. But the result is not sterile. Can you guys truly appreciate how much hard work it is to create a vat-grown creature like THIS with working sex organs?

Dr. Karkan. I do not forgive you for the evils you've committed against me and my friends. But as a woman of science, I recognize truly quality craftsmanship when I see it. As such, I'm readily willing to acknowledge it. Save for a few errors, it's an absolutely flawless final product. The closest thing to positively perfect Gengineering I've seen ANYWHERE on this planet.

Excellent work, Doctor.

...

...guys, don't look at me like that, please...Just chalk it up to "Love the art, hate the artist."

----------------------------------

Dr. Karkan: U-um...thanks...? I admit. Never has a process been so much of an absolute pain in my legs! And all of that effort, WASTED! All of that, just for it to defy me, his MASTER, and just..h-he just LEFT. We couldn't do anything to stop him, and our magic and spears didn't make him flinch at all! WHY?! What have I done wrong?!

Liliel: That's easy.

You made him too big. And his adrenaline glands are...TINY compared to the rest of him. This isn't causing him any sort of harmful disorder. But it DOES vastly reduce his levels of epinephrine and norepinephrine, which hampers his ability to strike up any kind of stress-induced fight or flight response. Add that to his naturally huge size and exceptional defenses protecting him, and you have a creature that has absolutely no reason to fight for its life. Much less waste energy fighting battles he doesn't need to. On the other hand, things would've been equally disastrous to make it too big. To put it plainly, doing that would just fate the poor creature to a death via heart attack.

I won't lie, endocrine system problems are frequent mistakes of amateur gen-tekkers. However, for this hybrid, this mistake is forgivable, as the rest of him is exceptionally well done.

--------------------------------------

Liliel: Anyway, thanks for lending me this new specimen. Kinda came with some Elves crawling on him we had to get rid of. But overall, he seems really nice! And I'd really like to examine him a bit more.

So, yeah. That's my piece.

...Anyone have any questions?

--------------------------------------

Everyone in field with Liliel simply stared at her, unsure of what to make of this spill of information.

And then Dr. Karkan, with a confounded, yet resigned expression, just turned around and walked away without saying anything.

Smashcut to the confused/squicked-out faces of Kassandra and Toma as they try to understand what the f**k Liliel is talking about.

*SNERK* Crunchyroll presents "I Can't Understand What my Space Girlfriend is Saying".

I guess this IS one of those moments where as much as she's integrated into Cauldron, this is one of those things that makes them take a step back and realize, "Geeziz...she really IS an alien."

We need more moments like this , Cauldronites and Aliens looking at each other like: "Dude, WTF are you talking about?"

Oh my indeed! Not only the Gizmo Guild members trying to understand advanced science. But...Liliel trying her damnedest to understand something like potionmaking. (I.e. using a cauldron and wand to bring out magical properties in ingredients) Where the entire time, she's just like,

"...no. N-no. Tha--that's...that's bullshit! I mea--how? That's not how chemical reactions work! These ingredients put together should NOT be able to make anything meaningful, other than a bunch of proteins which should cause anaphylactic shock if you consume it! But this concoction is supposed to be a HEALING potion?! How the flagnog is this supposed to work?!"

"Magic."

Kass: "And now you know how we feel when you talk about cold newt-clear friction."

Toma: "I'm pretty sure its new-and-clear fissures."

Liliel: "Oh, you're thinking cold nuclear fission. Nuclear, as in nucleus of a cell."

I mean...as much of a genius as Liliel is, she's going up against magic. Which has rules, but is not obligated to follow scientific rules.

Magitech engineering, creating fire without ANY fuel, using incantations, hereditary magic skill, metaphysical biology...poor Liliel is just trying so hard to put her science knowledge aside to learn how this junk works. And Kassandra just makes it all seem so easy!

Kass: "Cells radiate? I thought you said that was dangerous?"

Toma: "...we have no clue what we're talking about, do we?"

Well she did go to one of the top Magitech academies in the Wire Kingdom, so she knows magitech as well as Liliel understands common galactic science. Put them together and what do you get?

A lot of confusion and mixed signals.
