EDIT: Did the background!EDIT 2: ADDED MORE ALIENS. And had JUST enough time to shade and the characters and background before it was resubmitted. Check out all the fancy new critters littering the page! XD
No room for more tho. Awww...
Besides, if I try to add more at this point, Paint Tool SAI will probably start crashing. XD

"Ah yes! Professor Linnaeus speaking once again, for the Recording Crystal Ball I brought with me! Something I've been getting into more recently, as my adventures have been getting so hands on I've barely any time to record it on paper! After all, what better way is there to capture the moment than by sound, right?
Good! In any case, this here is a site containing cave paintings created by...by uh...
Actually, hold up.
I haven't even begun to start recording, but I'm already noticing something that's...not quite right with this. I see an intense glow emanating from INSIDE the cave. But no heat. No debris, so it couldn't be an explosion. No chill, so it's probably not ghosts. It's just strange. And...I think I need to go investigate this really quickly, then I'll get back to my scheduled recording."
-----------------------
"What the devil...?
It's a ball of light. A sort of spherical clump of light that's just swirling. And--I think it's starting to expand! Yes, it's expanding! But into wha--
Wh--what the--I'm somewhere else now! I-I mean, I still see the cave, right behind me, and--
GASP!!
...
W...w-what is this...?"
-------------------------
...And so, Professor Linnaeus had gotten a glimpse into another world. And they all seem perfectly aware of his presence. He sees...
- An Iargan, who simply sees this as an interesting turn of events, pondering something to himself.
- A Tall White who scoffs at him, referring to him through unflattering slurs, particularly calling him a "monkey", or a "shorties".
- A Spiny Amphibianoid, about to poke him with an "Electrowand" out of curiosity. He'll turn up the shock-setting a little after each poke!
- A Neonate Reticulan, simply in awe of this strange new presence aboard their ship, and so badly wants to make friends with him.
- A Seventh Form, who simply...stares at him. As though trying to determine everything about his character right there and then.
- A Blue Dwarf, who takes a moment to tell his trio of students a little about the humans on Cauldron.
- Three Star-Eyed Children, Human and Reticulan hybrids who try to make an impression. The first one seems studious. The second seems too nervous to get involved. While the third one tries to look cool/sassy.
- A P-C-G Unit sizing up Linnaeus, thinking him to be a threat to the children it is guarding.
- An Esperpoid, who simply thinks all of this is amusing, and already thinks he's a nerd.
------------------------
WIP, cuz I'm totally planning to put more aliens in there, and a proper background!
ALSO, Linnaeus belongs to !
P.S Alien Designs are much inspired by
And the ship's aeshetic is inspired by 's work!

hey Tipsy, i have suggested my alien ideas below, but looks like the deviation is getting cluttered wth maybe no space for the Popus.
so... would another deviation with my suggested aliens be done?.

I mean, they probably would! Heck, I imagine they'd be pretty partial to just going along for the ride and screwing around. XD
BUT STILL! I definitely wanna put more aliens in this! Weirder ones! Mostly cuz I just first started off with aliens based off of abduction reports. Got any ideas??

i have ideas: a species of "quantum strangers" that exist in a state of "cogito, ergo sum", where the strangers continue to exist as long as they are aware of themselves, may have originated from deceased Boltzmann Brains since countless eons, their true form resembles mirror-like hypercubes that show eldritch visuals, but they can manifest as "pretty boys", i can't imagine what offensive eldritch abilities would they have, but anyway... it is inspired by the title of a song by seiyuu Soma Saito.
a psychic amoeba species called R'M, made of gelatinous material of unknown colors, they can generate psychic energy simulacra of weapons and other superpowers of nearby creatures, they always believe to have been reincarnated from a squid-like species from a previous Universe, based on Rimuru from the Tensura series.
E.T.I.7, a species of galaxy-shaped holograms made of primordial starlight, they sing countless songs across the entire Universe, for some purpose of universal harmony, based on the idol singers of Idolish7.
thoughts Tipsy?, also remember the alien suggestions i posted in your Aberrations deviation!.

*Immanuel's mind was racing. No, that wasn't the right word...it was frantically, manically sprinting. These creatures were not native to the Cauldron, that much was clear. Any anthropologist worth their salt would realize nothing like these beings had ever been seen, alive or dead, on any known island. They weren't aberrations, artificial beings, or magically mutated creatures, and Immanuel was rapidly running out of logical options to explain what he was looking at.
And then someone jabbed him in the butt with a sharp, electrically charged object.*
Immanuel: MERCIFUL ZIZ!!
*He leapt backwards, fumbling to the floor and rubbing his sore behind.*

*As he stumbled back, and fell upon the metallic floor, he could look around to see even MORE strange alien life forms, all surrounding him and seeming curious of him.
3.bp.blogspot.com/-qGsKuRaxsuQ… As human-like as many of them appeared, Linnaeus could practically FEEL their unfamiliarity down to the bone. Their conversation among themselves sounding like robotic droning, or wave-like musical sounds, or faint whispering and hissing. These, at the front of the gathering crowd, with a whole slew of utterly bizarre and alien creatures behind them. Many looking like NOTHING he'd ever seen before. cdn.4archive.org/img/VVY8RTd.j…
Cue to the Frog-being simply wiggling his toes, while the small, floating pink being zipped down excitedly to shake his hand.*
????: HEYYYYY~!!! Heehee, haven't seen you around before, Mister!

*Immaneul scrambled to his feet, brushing his coat off just in time to be met face to face with the strange little pink creature holding a hand out to him. The sudden shock of another creature zipping right up to him with an extended hand caused him to scramble to the ground again.*
Immanuel: Not again!

*However...before he could hit the ground, he was stopped by some kind of telekinetic force keeping him afloat. As the creature inside of the capsule had him hover back to his feet before speaking.*
????: Fear not...
I have perceived your mind, and can clearly see that your intentions here are pure, if entirely accidental.
Tell us...who are you?

*Linnaeus scrambled to his feet again, trying to catch his breath and sooth his spinning mind. He found it was best to lean over and stare at the ground to calm himself down.*
Immanuel: M-My name is...Immanuel Linnaeus, a professor of a-anthropology at the Empyrean Academy...
..Who...what...are you?

????: We are...the people of what your colleagues may call "The New World".
Alongside me are people such as the Nyptonians. The Skreed. The Teetonians. The Iargans. The Negumak. The Esperpoids. The Andromedans. And many more of their ilk.
Are you frightened? Because our two worlds...they are not strangers.
They are family. More than you may think.

Immanuel: Really? You'll forgive my incredulity, but as a man of natural philosophy I'm not inclined to accept claims, especially of the extraordinary variety, without extraordinary evidence.

????: Then extraordinary evidence and knowledge you shall receive.
But first...allow me to ask. What did your planet used to look like?
*I.e when it was still called "Earth"?*

Immanuel: Ah, before the Raising of the land you mean? I believe I have a Diviners map in my pack.
*Reaching into his knapsack, far deeper than he should have been able to as his bag was enchanted to hold much more than it physically should, and pulled out a small metal case. He popped it open and began to unfold a map that, like his bag, was far bigger than the thin, palm-sized square he pulled out.*
Immanuel: Let me see here...
*The map revealed the known Cauldron in all its contours and heights. Waving his hand over the set date in the corner, the map dialed back in time to what modern Cauldron scholars believed that the world looked like before the rise of Rahab. The map was far from perfect, however, and was missing a few minor landmasses as well as having awkwardly shaped continents*
Immanuel: Ah, here. This is our best estimate as to how the land looked like before our islands rose up.

????: Ah yes...the Seven Continents of your world, from before the land had risen. Before they had aligned themselves directly under the wings of Ziz...
You have shown us yours...now I believe it is time to reveal to you, our world. Witness this...
*The telepathic capsule-being had beckoned Immanuel to look towards the window. And as its eye began to glow, the display of seemingly bare space begun to magnify. Past many stars, nebulae, and cosmic phenomena unknown to Immanuel, until the display had stopped upon a distant world.
A blue planet that had seven continents, one moon, and was lit up by vast cities, stations and energy matrices all around.*

Immanuel: Simply remarkable...
*He could tell this wasn't a magical display, he couldn't sense any magical energy from the image. This was some form of incredibly advanced technology. That was astounding enough on its own, but seeing how similar the creature's world was to his own was incredible.*

????: This is our world...United Earth.
It is very similar to your Cauldron. So much so that those of us who know of Cauldron's existence refer to our planets as kin, separated by thousands upon thousands of light years.
You must understand...Cauldron is significant to us. For it is a familiar face in a galaxy full of the incomprehensible. And so far, unspoiled by some of the less savory characters of our own space.

(Hey, no worries dude. D'you wanna take a break from RP's, cuz I can put this on hold if you need!)
????: Indeed...
Our world, however rich in advancement it is, isn't a perfect utopia. We have our fair share of hostile and malevolent adversaries too.
Space pirates. Interplanetary plagues. Alien invaders. Hostile Artificial Intelligences. Extradimensional entities.
Does your planet suffer from similar malcontents?

((Nah, just need to get motivated again.))
Immanuel: More than its fair share.
Demons, expansionist empires, monsters, warlords, pirates, we could be here all day.
My only concern is that your threats seem to be of a...larger scale and superior technology compared to us. If these marvels are any indication of your technical capacity, you'd have the old Elvish Empire defeated in a week.
