I'm not really interested in the fandom anymore, but I might revisit it if I go on another nostalgia trip anytime soon.

There's a few. I think there's maybe 2 or 3 episodes that AREN'T on youtube I think the episodes are mostly on youutbe. Shows like Angry beavers, another show similar to Stickin' around, is NOT on YouTube. It's on watchcartoononline.tv. (I promise the website is safer than most)

Ohhh don't even get me started!!!!! Johnny Test? Like really? That show is soooooooooooooooo lameeeee!!! It really bugs me how dumb shows like that get more attention than more educational and entertaining shows. Like really, what makes JT so good? It's so shit! Another good show that is probably getting cancelled is the show "Chaotic". I don't know if you know it, but it's a really good show and it was based off the card game. A show like that is worth watching over stupid Johnny Test any day!!!

stickinaroundforever In reply to TMNTISLOVE [2012-06-30 00:37:15 +0000 UTC]
lol I remember when I first saw Johnny Test. I remember thinking it was some kinda Calvin and Hobbes ripoff. I mean Johnny looks almost EXACTLY like Calvin. As for chaotic I do know it and I did watch it, but I didn't really like it. Maybe because my yugioh ripoff glasses were on at the time. I mean it had its moments where it drew me in, but other times I just didn't like it. I mean it probably would have felt better had it just been about them in the world of the monsters instead of connecting the card game onto it. That and I always felt like Tom looked like Gabe from Penny Arcade. Which could be kinda awkward sometimes considering that strips sense of humor. XD
I agree though it's more worth watching than Johhny Test. Heck even stuff like Yin Yang Yo and Xiaolin Showdown are more worth watching than Johnny Test.

Ohh really? Hmm well I'm not really familiar with that show so I wouldn't know. But it does seem like cartoons are totally ripping off older cartoons now a days. Hmm really? I never really saw it as that. I mean, sure they're both card games, but they are completely different from each other. I've never once thought of Yu-Gi-Oh while watching Chaotic. What I like about the show is how interactive the characters are with the creatures in Perim. The creatures actually become friends with some of the humans and are very friendly towards them. Some of them even defend the humans from dangers and treat them as their allies. That's what I like about the show.
ANYTHING is worth more than watching Johnny Test!

Calvin and Hobbes is a comic strip not a cartoon. Fans wish it was a cartoon though. I suppose it's just something you'd have to check out and see for yourself. Other people tend to compare it to Dexter's lab too except gender switched.
Eh I was the same way with Duel Masters too. After Yugioh it's just hard to get into another card game themed show without thinking "Yugioh did this far more awesomely."
But I agree with you. Which is why I said that I think the show would have been better if it was about the kids in Perim without the card game attached. I mean it's kinda hard for me to feel for them when usually they're just there to scan people. It kinda kills the emotional involvement at times. I think it would have been way better if the card game and scanning stuff wasn't part of it and it had been about kids in a world full of supernatural creatures and monsters, and having to choose sides in this whole conflict that's been going on. Cause when it was doing that it was really interesting. Only for it to be ruined by having to go play more card games. Although I admit taking on the forms of their monsters and actually fighting instead of having the monsters do it for them? That was a pretty neat concept.
Haha even Total Drama is worth watching more than Johnny Test.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I am familiar with this!!! (Just went on Google) I've seen the comic strips a lot in school textbooks and sheets, but I never really paid much attention towards it. For some reason this reminds me of "For Better or for Worse" because it was based off a comic that got turned into a series luckily. That show brings back memories.
Meh, I suppose everyone is just different. Though I personally prefer the original Yu-Gi-Oh, compared to the new series that came out. It's just not the same as the original. Same thing with Beyblade, that new "Beyblade Metal Fusion" crap is just not the same. I think they should try more to get the originals re-aired, instead of just making cheap knock-offs. That's my opinion anyways.
Come to think of it, yeah that would be a rather interesting concept if it was more centered around the teens in Perim without the whole "game" part attached to it. Then again, you've got to remember that the whole series was based off the original cared game, so I suppose it would be only natural for them to include the whole game part of it in the series. Perhaps they could have made a brand new show, inspired by the card game but not limited to it.
Which one? The series in general or a particular season? I personally cannot stand the fourth season, because all the other characters from the previous seasons are basically gone. It's a whole new cast with different characters, so it's hard to really click. It's just not the same and I find the new characters rather vile and obnoxious. It's just not funny anymore. I definitely enjoyed season 3 though, that whole "singing" thing was a good twist.

eh well apparently Calvin and Hobbes should be seen as the best newspaper strip ever. At least that's how I've seen everyone on the internet claim it.
I couldn't even get into Beyblades. I mean seriously. Saving the world with spinny tops? XD
No offense if you like them though,
Actually I liked Yugioh GX and 5ds. I haven't watched the new one yet but I doubt I'd like it. Just from what I hear of it.
I figured they only kept the card game in the show just to shove merchandise in the viewers faces. They could totally do the series in Perim without the card game if they wanted, but yeah I do understand that it originated from a card game and they have to market it somehow. Though honestly that doesn't stop Japan who brings out a card game based on EVERYTHING they show.
I've found them all good so far to be honest. Though I haven't watched much of the current run, and I know what you mean. I'm attached to those characters too. Owen is my fav and we always need more Courtney x Duncan.

Hmm really? Must be some comic strip then! I'm guessing the artist must be pretty rich? Heheh
LOLL yeah it wasn't exactly the greatest anime, but it was fun while it lasted. Meh it was just a fad for me. I didn't really used to watch it that much. I was wayy more into Spider Riders! And it STILL plays!
I have a friend that's pretty obsessed with Yu-Gi-Oh GX and she says it's awesome, but I just can't bring myself to get into it. I haven't even bothered trying to watch the new one either.
Hahaha yeah Japan is something else! But I really do admire their shows. Some of the ideas for tv shows are truly creative and it's amazing how they bring it to life. I kind of wish more cartoons would be like that. I was viewing some of the original Teletoon shows, and it's crazy how Teletoon went down over the years. From shows like What's with Andy?, Braceface, Stickin' Around to now with crappy shows like Johnny Test, My babysitter is a Vampire, and Mudpit Like wtf? Wtf is "Mudpit"? I don't understand some of these shows!
Hahaha oh yeah the old characters were pretty awesome! And oh you're for DXC? Hahah I'm for DXG. ^^ I just think they connect more and are more compatible.

He refused to ever have a cartoon made of it as well as he never sold merchandise. I'm guessing Bill Watterson was a pretty legit artist.
LOL I just stick to card games on motorcycles. Can't stand all those other card based game shows or other ones that try to push some kinda merchandise I don't want. XD
GX is really good if you don't really give a crap about plot. It's just good fun and to me that's what makes it good, but some people would rather it be dark and edgy like 5ds.
Ah well I admit. I never really got into Braceface. That was back before I could appreciate girl shows. I mean I would put brace face on the same level as totally spies in regards to how bad I thought it was, and that's pretty bad. If I watched it now though maybe I'd have a different view of it.
Oh I like Duncan x Gwen too. Though I think it's kinda BS how they rewrote Trent. So that was my only problem with it is how they couldn't even get rid of Trent believably.

TMNTISLOVE In reply to stickinaroundforever [2012-07-10 22:38:32 +0000 UTC]
That's pretty interesting. So I'm guessing he wasn't all for being too "commercial" and just wanted to focus more on what he liked to do, which is clearly drawing.
Hahahaaha that's cool! Card games on motorcycles, now that's interesting!
Ohh I see. Well I probably wouldn't be that into it, because plot does mean a bit to me. I really get hooked into shows, based on plot and characters. Plus I prefer the original Yu-Gi-Oh, because I grew up on it.
Hmm I see. Well the thing I liked about braceface, was the fact that it actually talked about mature situations and was basically a glimpse of how life is like for teenagers. I suppose it probably was aimed more towards females, but it wasn't uncommon for males to be watching it either. I find that a few of my male friends really like Totally Spies and not just because the main stars were females. Hehe
Yeah that's true. The whole Trent thing got out of hand. I feel bad for him, but it's not like he wasn't at fault. He did have some problems and I don't think it was right that he threw off challenges for his girlfriend. A bit of friendly competition never hurt anyone. As long as it remains friendly...hehe

Pretty much. That's what I hear from a lot of his fans that is.
Eh you're watching a show about teenagers with attitude saving the world by playing card games. I think one series could break the mold and try something different. Then again it's not like GX doesn't have a plot at all. Especially in later seasons a plot does appear. It's just that we get more filler episodes, but even those can be good.
Ugh I just couldn't stand Totally Spies at all. Not even the femme fetale factor was enough to excuse how many brain cells I lost even trying to watch it. As for Brace face it wasn't that bad but maybe it just felt bland to me. I just couldn't really get into the characters or just kinda found them annoying.
Yeah but that's the thing. Trent never had those problems beforehand. They rewrote his character to purposely get rid of him in order to push for Duncan x Gwen. I don't mind Duncan x Gwen. Heck I like it but I don't like how they had to kick Trent to the curb to do it. They could have handled the end of their relationship a lot better than Trent's an OCD crazy person.

TMNTISLOVE In reply to stickinaroundforever [2012-07-11 00:19:29 +0000 UTC]
Ohh I see.
Well that's the thing, if a plot doesn't appear at first, then what are you really watching? I mean, a story is not really a story unless it has a plot. Every cartoon is a story being told. I don't like watching the "updated" versions of the more older classic cartoons, because basically all they're doing is changing the story but using the same famous name. It's just never the same, even if they are adding their own twist. Butttt, I have noticed that there are very few shows that deserve applause for doing so, because they are adding a whole new twist to the original and just giving a different concept to the whole story. I don't know if you've heard of the new show "The Looney Tunes Show". It's basically based off the original looney tunes show, and has all the exact same characters, but have put them in a scenario where they now live normal "human" lives. It's more of a "what if" kind of scenario. I find this new update, a hilarious remake of the original. Plus some of the character's personalities have a whole new twist. it's just ridiculous.
Hmm well then maybe it's just all based on your personal preferences. I mean, of course not everyone is going to like the same shows. That's just not possible. Everyone has their own tastes and preferences when it comes to tv, so I'm assuming that those two particular shows were just not of much interest to you, and that is completely fine. Maybe you're into more actiony/adventure shows with more complex plots?
Ohh yeah, I see what you mean there. That is a pretty harsh way of doing things. I mean, they could have easily made a more common relationship issue, instead of adding the whole OCD thing. I wonder why they went to such great lengths.

stickinaroundforever In reply to TMNTISLOVE [2012-07-11 00:37:47 +0000 UTC]
Yeah I like the looney tunes show, and I agree with you about how there are some remakes that are pretty dumb, but for instance stuff like TMNT hasn't been too bad as far as its remake went. Heck at least they got rid of that new Michael Bay version.
Yeah I get the whole thing that people have different tastes and perceptions of things, but I just found Totally Spies to just be plain bad, and when you see a show like that you wonder how it could possibly be appealing to anyone. Though it's not meant to be done in a way to insult anyone's tastes or anything.
Probably because they wanted to make Trent look bad to the audiance as well. Either that or they couldn't figure out a decent way to end the relationship so bad writing 101.

TMNTISLOVE In reply to stickinaroundforever [2012-07-15 04:11:46 +0000 UTC]
Which season or version are you talking about? And really? Michal Bay? I swear he's only good for transformers, or apparently he's known for doing a "terrible" job on Transformers. I still want to slap him for kicking Megan Fox off the set. She was perfect as Makalah.
That kind of relates to shows in general though. It's the same as someone watching a show that they think is amazing, but then having a friend that thinks it's complete trash. Same thing with art. What might look like complete garbage to one person, might actually look like a masterpiece to another person. You can't really can't expect your tastes to be the same with everyone, all you can really do is go for the things that you like. But it's true though, sometimes you just wonder why the heck this show is even aired. That's why I get so mad when I'm trying to watch tv and then find myself pulling out my old nostalgic shows instead. Tv's just not the same anymore.
Hahahahahaha with such events like that, it really makes me want to reconsider switching out of my digital animation program.

I was referring to 2K3. You know the 4kids version. I mean it was considerably better than the 80s show and Turtles Forever might as well be one of the greatest movies ever made. Heck I'd love to see a Powerpuff Girls Forever movie like that where our PPGs have to team up with the PowerPuff Girls Z. That would be all kinds of awesome.
I'm fine admitting I'm a snob towards some things. XD
Exactly. I meanI never think I'm insulting anyone's tastes or opinions for liking a show. I just wonder why they're so ready to accept such low quality garbage. It's like eating in the restaurant's dumpster instead of eating in the restaurant you know? And yet the masses are happy eating that kind of disgusting, moldy, bug infested garbage when they could be getting better shows if they just wised up.
haha you mean you wanted to be an animator or something like that? That would have been cool. Why'd you switch out?

You mean TMNT FF? Fast forward? That season? And yeah I find the more modern day versions of the turtles, to be so much more enjoyable than the original 80s cartoon. The turtles seem to have much more of a personality in the newer versions. And yeah, I agree, the turtles forever movie was definitely an amazing movie. I really enjoyed it. Hahaha PPGs huh? Oh man, that show brings back memories.
I guess it just all comes down to the person. Oh well. ^^
Not necessarily an animator, but more on the lines of being a character designer or a storyboard artist. As much as I loved amateur animation when I was younger, I was never actually serious about it. Don't get me wrong, I can appreciate good animation when I see it, but animation itself is just not my forte. I much prefer the pre-production part of it, like scripting or character designing. I'm deciding to take a year off from college in general, because I feel like I've rushed into to things much too quickly, and I don't want to end up wasting time in a program I don't really enjoy. So I'm going to try and see if I can withdraw from college for the year, and come back next year when I truly know what I want to do. I'm thinking graphic designing, because it's more based on creating logos and designs, and less of animating and 3D modeling. I dunno yet, I'll have to see.

I think that's interesting and that's a good idea to take a year off. I should have done that when I was in school but then I was on scholarship so I I didn't have much choice in the matter. Yeah, it just feels so right. I guess, yeah in your case you didn't really have a choice. But did you end up being in a program that you actually enjoyed? If you don't mind me asking, what program were you in? And really? Yeah a lot of people seem to say that, I guess 'cause it's a really interesting field.

stickinaroundforever In reply to TMNTISLOVE [2012-07-20 02:13:10 +0000 UTC]
Yeah I get what you mean. Back to the sewer was really the weakest season. All the others were pretty good though. I'll admit that I wish fast forward would have gone on longer though just so we could have gotten the plot they had been planning. Cause from what I hear the show was cancelled before its potential could be realized.
No I ended up majoring in paralegal studies. Which not only gave me a degree in something I didn't like doing but also makes it a total bitch finding a job in an industry no one is hiring in. Then again with my visual impairment I didn't have a lot of options so I can't just be anything I want. I was stuck in those white collar majors pretty much. So yeah college for me sucks, but I can understand how you feel because that's pretty much how I felt about college. Unlike me though you get to take some time off and think about what you want to do. I was thrown into college right after high school. I didn't even get to think, and heck even to this day I don't know what I want to do. So I really hope that works out for you.

TMNTISLOVE In reply to stickinaroundforever [2012-07-20 02:49:11 +0000 UTC]
It's a shame they were cancelled before the plot could truly come out. I remember the last episode being something about Zixth and all then the series just ended unfortunately. I'm currently re-watching the series though, so at least I can re-watch it again.
Ohh the legal studies huh? The industry is really that bad now? Woww I guess society really is changing, what with the demand for teachers slowly decreasing now and people finding it harder and harder to find jobs. That makes me scared now. Watch me finally find a program that I enjoy, only to realize that the chances of me getting a job in that field are very very low. It sucks that you were thrown into college right after high school. I feel the same way and I wish I hadn't have been so quick to jump into college. High school doesn't really prepare you for college as much as they say it does, honestly high school is of no real help when it comes to college. Are you planning on going back to school, or are you done with it officially?

I remember they were going to bring back Baxter Stockman and do some other things that looked interesting. Even have another Shredder, but yeah it is a shame it got cancelled so soon when it was such a fun ride.
Yeah pretty much. I mean I've put in hundreds of resumes over the course of seven years to law offices, corporations, any place where I could find a job as a paralegal. Heck I even applied to the courthouse and nothing. If I do get an interview they ALWAYS go for the guy that has ten years of experience over the fresh guy out of college who has none. Doesn't help that some discriminate due to my visual impairment as if they don't think I can do a job because I'm considered legally blind.
But I'm hearing that's how all industries are nowadays that's why unemployment is so high. In regards to the chances of finding a job I mean.
Yeah pretty much both high school and college were no help at all. It probably would have been better if I had never gone to college and just got a job at McD's or something. I mean at least THAT gives you experience and I'd have gotten something instead of being turned away from even minimum wage jobs now just for having a degree. As for going back to college. Well I don't have anymore help anymore, and right now I'm debt free so I'm not exactly thinking of putting myself into debt just to go for another useless piece of paper. Honestly I'm not sure what to do at this point.

Darnnnnnnnnnnn!!! That really sucks!
That's really a shame, I'm sorry to hear that. I mean yeah experience does help a lot but that's never really a good enough excuse to write someone off. They can always learn, can they not? And ohh that's not right at all. There are a lot of people with disabilities and problems, but that shouldn't limit them to getting a job. I mean they are just as hard working, so what makes them any different from someone that isn't blind? Have you tried work agencies or work care centres that help people find jobs? I hear they are really good with helping people find a job.
Well that is just ridiculous!
The only problem/PROBLEMS that I would say about McHell is the fact that it's not all that it's said to be. I mean, originally it's supposed to be that summer job that helps you earn some cash to buy whatever the hell you want, but in reality...IT'S A TRAP! I've seen people who have been there for YEARS literally YEARS and they just can't seem to get out. It feels like a jail and the respect there is little to none. I mean sure, stress can be a main factor in that job but honestly you are so much better off working somewhere else and would still end up making money. Yeah it may seem like a good thing to put on a resume, but that doesn't mean it's guaranteed to get you a better job. I'm probably just talking out of pure rage, but honestly if you are looking to get a job, I would much rather recommend a place like walmart over McHell any day. At least with walmart you get a percentage of the sales and you might even be able to get benefits. In terms of school, perhaps you should maybe try speaking to a guidance counselor or something, to see what they can do to help. It's really not right to be limited just because of your condition.

Yeah I mean. How am I supposed to gain experience if they won't even let me gain any experience. What a bunch of hypocrites, and well some people believe that the disabled can't do anything that peopel who are physically perfect in every way can do. Because that's how superficial people are, and no nothing's really helped. All I can do is keep putting my resume out there to no success
Personally I wanted to work at Gamestop myself but then I heard about how their company is a pile of crap so I'd rather work at a Best Buy instead or maybe a Barnes and Noble but even then it's probably harder for me to gain employment there.
It's more about that I used up all the help blindness and visual services were willing to give me despite saying I could go back if I wanted years ago, and honestly I can't afford to have a huge student loan debt. I'm barely getting by on what I have now so there's no point of me heading back to college if I have to foot the bill with no help at all.

Well same to you. Friendship is a two way street after all. I wouldn't let you carry all the burden nor would I ever let any friend do that

It's a shame how hard it is to find such caring people now a days. I just feel like people don't value friendships as much any more.

I've felt that for years to be honest.

I think it's because the jerk lifestyle is becoming more popular. Like Jersey Shore and what not. People want to be douchebags they think it's cool.

That is exactly the cause of it. This generation is headed for an early grave. It really is a shame that society isn't how it used to be. Yes there will always be jerks in life, but with these young adolescents growing up thinking the "thug life" is a life to be desired, or partying and drinking with friends is the only way to spend your friday night, it's no wonder the population of decent people is decreasing at an alarming rate.

Heck the thug life and the hood rats were around in the 80s too but now living that kind of life is popular now and it seems like people are expected to live that life being flashy, mouthing off to people, and all that. Heck just look at the music stations you might as well say they're all BET now. It's not like they don't run anything that isn't Rap or Hip Hop music. Plus all the bad influence shows like Jersey Shore and a lot of those reality TV shows where it pays to be a douchebag.
I mean we were in the Jackass generation and those guys were just idiots. Now we got the generation who think speaking in gang signs and ebonics as well as huffing paint is the awesomest thing ever, and this stupidity has spread to every race. It's no wonder civilizations going down the toilet. In a time where guys think being a ghetto playa from the mean streets of suburbia is cool and girls think being a whore is normal. Seeing the future full of brain dead morons speaks ill of the rest of us who grew up smarter and more respectful. Even if we didn't have the tools the new generation has like cell phones and the internet.
Sorry I hope I'm not being too offensive or anything like that to you. XD

Ohh god I completely forgot about this! LOL sorry!!!
Yeah exactly, it's like it just escalated into something worse over the years. -_____-
Honestly we have the media to blame. If the media wasn't so damn corrupted, than maybe this generation wouldn't be growing up with such garbage. I started doing a bit of research on media influences and how it really effects children and youth, and I gotta say that it ain't pretty at all. From degradation to women, to over 2,000 sexual references viewed from TV a year, It is just ridiculous!
All we can really do is stop ourselves from being brainwashed and don't buy into this crap. These whole "gender roles" are just plain ridiculous, and yeah...people need to grow the fuck up!
And no worries, I wasn't even offended.
