Getting somewhere. Maybe. I don’t know. This style checks a lot of Brain-pleasing boxes for me: pencil sketching and rendering, inks, paper textures, water color shading. I don’t know that I can incorporate that strong paint texture I like. I’m also not sure if this method is too tedious for comic and graphic novel work. I tend to lean towards realism when I draw myself for such projects, so I’ll have to see how I would apply this to Plunger Monkey. I experimented with a color gradient map (like I have for the other rendering experiments), but it just wasn’t working yet. I may try hand coloring instead. The exploration continues…
