Description I’ve been tinkering with this rendering practice on and off for a few days, refining the process, getting faster at it. One thing I’ve picked up from various tutorials over the years that I’m trying is to do some general rendering first, as if the subject is lit by just ambient light and effectively that light is coming from a similar direction as your eyes. Then, on other layers, drop in some directional light and shadows, and maybe some bounced light. Lighting can be very complex to understand and tough to render quickly. Breaking it down into steps like that-with the benefit of working digitally-makes things a whole lot easier. I still need a lot of practice, though.
