Sure Naruto would have ended up in the same shoes as Link from OoT, but that would at least make sense, uuuuaaaaa...

Trust me they could have just say something like Sakura rejecting him, and naruto trying things with hinata after year or so. This is just an option, there is alot of ways they could have done this if you look outside of the THE LAST story box. Only two reasons as to way they didn't did any of that was eaither because they wanted to get it out of their way, or they had alot planned out, but it got cut down like FMA conqueror of shambala. Either way, the final script was a mess to the point where Naruto became dumb and not interesting. No wonder Kishimoto didn't wanted to have anything to do with the movie, other than designes XD

AND THIS IS ALREADY FAR BETTER THAT THE LAST. So this is already far better than the Last as Naruto know that he was in Genjutsu but I wonder what else shall happen as he may see more in the Genjutsu more hurt and that as that is what a Genjutsu does after all.

Just two remarks regarding the speeches; I'm not a native English speaker myself, but wouldn't a longer "Do you wanna fight!?" in the third panel be a little bit more fitting? And I think there is an 'a' missing in the sixth panel, "This is something I decided a long time ago".

Wait a second. You haven't seen Naruto: Will of Fire? That was one of the best movies they have to offer between the character conflicts, fight scenes, and even comedy. It was just an all around good movie to watch that I suggest you get started on right away.
