I don't really like her being some kind of chosen one. I prefer to think that the byakugan princess thing could be only because the ghost from otsutsuki reacts to her byakugan but not because she's special.

Also, this is probably from my ignorance born of not watching The Last, but where did Hinata get the idea Byakugan Princess? Did the villain mention it to her? Is there some writing on the wall that only she can read thanks to her Byakugan, like that Uchiha tablet?

In the movie, there's a ghost from otsutsuki that calls her byakugan princess. There's no clear explanation either if it's because she's some kind of chosen one or simply because the ghost reacts to her byakugan.
About the writings, I'm not really sure because at first they ask Hinata for help but ultimately is Shikamaru the one reading them.

She's a force chosen one and that disappeared after this movie. Like how naruto was a everyman and then forced him to be a chosen one. That type of story is over done and dumb unless your star wars, avatar or Harry potter.
Actually that makes more cause hinata is not special at all.
