Man, your art just keeps getting better and better and still love how you know the characters.
Alot of people love to ask me, especially the pro-enders, "do you think you know these characters better than Kishimoto?" And I always say, matter of factly, YES. I DO know these characters better because I wasn't willing to sacrifice everything good and bad that made up the characters go to waste because I wanted a certain pairing to happen. I am/was a NaruSaku fan, but not because I like the characters together or I was biased to one character or another. It was because the story just fit them better. They were perfect. They had problems and strengths. They understood each other if even only subconciously. Hinata just didn't. Not to say that she couldn't, but she just didn't or was unwillingly to. All she cared about was being noticed and even that she needed help with.
I am sad that Hinata's popularity took control of the series instead of letting the story flow naturally. Was Hinata not getting with Naruto the end of the world? Wouldn't it have been better if Hinata learned a valuable lesson in what true love means in that it is about the other person and not your own desires? Naruto knew that when he was willing to sacrifice his happiness for the sake of Sakura's. We knew he was willing to let Sakura be happy with Sasuke, but she isn't happy with him and Naruto is not happy with Hinata and yet, they still lie to themselves in the story. Kishimoto knows this. We know this.
I think my favorite part of your doujinshi so far is just the chapters with Sakura and Ino. Two girls, two best friends, one of which knew better. Having Ino express how Sakura has changed felt real. More natual than "Oh look Sakura is all of a sudden Hinata's best friend and forces Naruto to notice Hinata."

Sakura: "Why don't you ask if you can walk Hinata home tonight?"
Naruto: "Why?"
And that scene just about sums it up. "Why" indeed?
Thank you for keeping the characters pure. Not even Hinata deserved the fate she got in the end. Meanwhile, everyone else just paints and pictures their fantasy of how great SS and NH is and then tells other people that they are not true fans because they don't accept the canon ending meanwhile their "idea" of the pairings is far from the truth that Kishimoto and the Boruto manga expresses. Especially when it comes to SS. They always depict them so happy together when in the story Sasuke is NEVER around and Sakura is miserable 99% of the time. When you even have their supposedly own kid "Salad" (still think it is Karin's kid) express how she doesn't believe her parents are married...there is something wrong. Especially when they have control over the series and this is how they depict them.
I know this was a long post and mostly just me ranting, but I had such passion for the Naruto series as most others and the ending just betrayed us. I know you probably feel similar to the way I do as well.

This post perfectly depicts the main failing of both the ending and the Last: the character we see in them are not the same ones we've gotten to know over the years.
Kishimoto sacrificed character for popularity and that is a damn shame.

I totally agree with you. The ending feels out of place in comparison with the rest of the story probably as you said because of the popularity of some characters like Hinata.

Man, I envy how well understand this series inner mechanisms from the story, characters, abilities, and even right down to the art work. You are basically Deviantart Kishimoto at this point, but with a life outside of this work so you don't burn yourself out like him.
