Description
Next is the first of the two female members of the Digidogs pack, Blaze the Goldador, whose secret identity is Karen LaFleur, a 9th grade student at Howling Bay High School and a member of the school's cheer squad. Her super power is fire manipulation, the ability to charge and shoot fireballs at her enemies and blow them away (essentially, a female version of Hunter who can shoot fire instead of leaving behind a trail of fire). Natural for a cheerleader, she is fired up, bringing energy to the team when they need it the most. However, due to her young age, she is quite naïve and may not have the capacity to make fully-informed decisions for herself. Despite this, she is constantly hungry for improvement and to become a fully-functional, well-rounded member of the team.

Karen is your typical American schoolgirl, constantly tries to keep up on trends, social media, and giggles every bit of gossip with her friends. Additionally, she wants to finally prove to society that women are just as capable as men in many different things, and will not let any sexist boy stand in her way.

My last two submissions were a bit problematic on how I drew the boots, so I decided to take another approach towards that and I couldn't be happier with how they turned out. Another challenge is drawing female characters and the female form in general. Knowing that females are generally built smaller than their male counterparts (it's biology, fight me), so I should draw my female characters more slenderly than the male characters, who I have more experience drawing. I also needed to pay attention to how I drew the torso for this very reason, as well as obvious reasons. There are also slight variations I wanted to make in the uniform to better reflect male vs. female outfits. Overall, I liked how this turned out and will be ready to draw the last member sooner than later.

For those of you late to the party, Digidogs is my current Road Rovers inspired project featuring a team of canid superheroes who keep the town of Howling Bay and abroad safe from criminals, terrorists, and even monsters. These superheroes are not dogs that turn into anthropomorphic canines by stepping into a mutation machine, but rather a group of high school students who have the ability to switch between their human and canid forms by pressing a button on their specially-made sports watches.
