This is Notatesseraeraptor, a new early theropod described today in Nature. Its name means "mosaic-featured plunderer" due to its mix of basal and derived characters.Related content

I had a question about the arms. The skeletal schematic from the paper does not show them accurately but they seemed to be relatively long. Is their relative
shortness in your own reconstruction an artefact from the feathers covering them and pose or did you measure the arms and concluded they were short?

They're just tucked in (I actually based the pose directly on one of the articulated forelimbs) and covered in feathers. If it reached them out they'd look pretty long.

I am currently abroad so I didn't have the time to check the paleonews and thought for a second this was a joke title. 0o What a bizarre name! Albeit fitting for such a weird theropod!!
