Description
This is Cherub, the teenage sidekick of Gabriel, golden age superheroes. Both were aliens that crash landed on Earth in the early 1930's). Sherrib is Gabriel's daughter, and her mother was murdered by the Nazi's that discovered them in their space ship by experimenting on the aliens. Somehow, Gabriel escaped with his daughter and made his way to America. As Sherib grew up in America, she heard radio shows about mystery men and super heroes, and heard about superman, an alien like her who became a respected superhero. So, she decided to follow in his shoes. Gabriel, naturally was reluctant to make his true nature known, after his experience with the Nazis. He got a quiet little job as a maintenance man working at a radio station, hoping to use Earth's primitive radio technology to send a message home for help. However, when Cherub made her heroic debut against some fifth columnists and got in over her head, Gabriel had to enter the fight to save her. Gabriel had recovered and used a piece of technology from his ship, that helped him escape, a pair of gauntlets that provided him tools to explore new worlds. These gauntlets could produce a glowing force field, and a fiery "sword" amongst other things. He gave the gauntlet that could create the "Halo" to Cherub, while he kept the gauntlet that produced the sword.

One of the things I really like about this idea, is that the standard teenage sidekick is actually the driving force behind the heroic pair, although most people, of course, believe Gabriel is the hero in charge. I mean, yeah, he gives his daughter orders, now... but she is the one that took them into a career as supers.
