Description
This Amalgam is what I call a targeted Amalgam (maybe the community around here has a different name?). Rather than amalgam two heroes thematically, or to take two teams and amalgam them, I decided on a name (Jitterbug) and figured out how to amalgam to get that name. Other "targeted" amalgams I've done is to create a specific hero or power scheme an then figure out what two heroes would make the character I already have in mind.

To be fair, in this instance, I already knew I wanted to amalgam Bug from the Micronauts with someone, but I was thinking of a name before I thought of the DC character. I wanted a name with _____bug. I thought of lady bug, june bug, stink bug, shield bug, and lightning bug (which actually I had a good idea for). But I really decided I liked the name "jitterbug". I asked a friend what the other hero would be for a Bug + ____ = Jitterbug amalgam would be and he said "of course it should be Vibe". And he was right.

So this is Bug from the Micronauts and Vibe from Justice League Detroit making up the Jitterbug. I'm not sure I'm happy with the result. other than the helmet, the loincloth (which is not even that easy to see), and the rocket lance (here called a Quake Lance) the costume is all new 52 vibe. I changed the indigo blue in the costume to green... and now I think it just looks like Bug with a slightly different costume. sigh. Well, it was a fun idea. Hope you like it.
