Description
This was a gift for my mother because she gave me new drawing ink in return *grins*.She wanted to have a hobbit, a tree and some squirrels. This is what happened. It's a random hobbit actually. I can't even tell you his name.
Anyway, it was done about a year ago, but since I still like it (which is unusual), I decided to submit it here.

Nice painting! I like how a hobbit sitting with his back resting at a tree is on the first sight reminiscent of the beginning of the FotR film where Frodo sits in a similar way, and yet you managed to paint it in a very different style, making it clear that this is inspired more by book than the movie.

The idea was just to paint ANY Hobbit with squirrels and a tree, so indeed the painting isn’t fashioned after the movies in particular; it’s more a piece that could fit anywhere in Tolkien’s universe

his name is Jimmy Snuffpuffbottle, and that very cute squirrel/chipmunk is his pet.

Excellent picture Franzi! The tree and the surrounding woodland look amazing! Very atmospheric. And the hobbit looks awesome too. The love the little tufts of hair on his feet! A very nice touch! ^^
