I made this using your tutorial, what do you think? I know the head needs some improvement, but... It's my first-ever base and your tutorial really helped me. But I think you should add not to make the curves anti-aliased, because I was new to Paint.NET too and at first I was anti-aliasing the lines without realizing it, and I couldn't use the fill bucket tool with it like that and I got really frustrated. It might be helpful for that to be in there. Just a thought~ Thanks for making this and your dolling tutorial, both really helped me~

i think it's really good for your first base and i never thought about the anti-analizing thing. thanks for mentioning that.

Thanks c: And yeah, it made it difficult to use the fill bucket tool. Just thought I should say it so maybe you could add it in there or something. *shrug*

As much as I love this tutorial, there has always been one thing that has always bugged me, I need a FAST and easy way to get rid of the traced picture, even though I'm not a base maker, it would help with a lot of things I do, otherwise I spend at least a half hour erasing the background picture pixel by pixel...any tips???

[link] this tutorial explains how to get rid of the picture a bit easier. i use a program that has layers so i've never had to do any erasing of the background picture. if you have any questions about this, i wouldn't be able to answer. sorry.

well, i know what picture you referenced and why don't you just base it off of that?

Tori001 In reply to KamaraKitsuia [2011-09-28 03:09:39 +0000 UTC]
. . . well, you can try again on another base. practice makes perfect!

Question, is there a quick way to bypass that step where you have to erase all the stuff in the lines?

Tori001 In reply to KamaraKitsuia [2011-09-26 03:16:42 +0000 UTC]
well, i use paint.net and that program has layers so with the click of a button, the ref pic disappears. i'm not sure how to do it on other programs. i'd look up more tutorials if i were you.

D; i have my original drawing on another layer so it won't get in the way, but if you're using paint (which you most likely are) then it's a long process. i use paint.net. i've never done it that way, but i know i saw a tutorial on here that shows you how to do it. you should be able to find it pretty easy if you type in 'base tutorial' on the search button. i know the the ref the person used is of miku hatsune if that helps. she's like curled up sort of and it holding ribbons or bandages. hopefully you can find it!

very nice ;0;
from my experience, you try to make something helpful like this, and the people who need to see it don't :I
Still! I will spread the word and add it to my collection of tutorials <3

please do spread the word. i would like better bases to be made! not like mine are all that great, but their better than the ones that look like just scribbles with eyes and no shading.
