again, i'm tired of seeing bad artwork created with bases so i made this. i hope it will help someone. this took me a long time so i hope people will pay attention to it.oh and if you don't have the Paint.net program i mentioned, just type it in on google and you should be able to find the cite. that's the program i make all of my bases on for any of you who actually like them.
i have nothing more to say i guess . . .
inspiration: stupid people.
ps. the top picture was made by my friend and you can't steal it even though it's amazing and you all want it XD

Even if Im still practically a noob at using bases I hate seeing bases with...5 minute clothes on themβ¦
seriously... good bases that takes lots of time to make
deserves lots of time to be spent on them~
although my style is quite different I love how informative everything is^^ and the Gaussian blur tip is something I would love to try~

that could never be called a blob. it's amazing. looks very good. one thing though. if you make the clothes using a vexel and or vector program, but the rest of the base has pixelated lines still, it looks a bit off. maybe you could remake the base using the program you used to make the clothes? just a thought.
glad you found this helpful and although the gaussian blur didn't look to great here, it looks a lot better on full body works and thinks like that.

ah no I didn't make the clothes using a vector program though...I used pixlr since my Photoshop was acting weird (again)and wanted to try proper pixelized art...
thank you for that though then^^ I'll remake her body later...

And I just noticed that at the end, you suggested using Gaussian Blur... that's an interesting idea, I never thought about that before, I typically just use the blur and smudge tools on my shading and highlights (which are sometimes with burn and saturation tools)... How did you come up with using that technique?

i was being curious and pressing buttons and then i pressed that one and i thought it looked good. no one else seems to like my idea.

Lol, it looks good actually, except on some things. I would suggest perhaps blending the original, unblurred version with a copy of the blurred version until the body is blurred but the hair is very lightly blurred.. though since I only use photoshop, it may not work that way with paint.net...

Thank you for submitting it to GoodBases. And while this is a tutorial for dolling, it's also great for drawing in general. I just wish I had a printer so I could print it out and keep it with me for whenever I draw! xD
