Hey guys, I've received several print requests for this thing. I've had it as a print in my shop for quite some time now, so please drop by and check it out! [link]The image is 6'9" tall on canvas that's about 7'4" tall. Relief print with screened color and painted color (blue). This is part of my ongoing undergraduate print series that deals with the issues that children's stories/TV programs don't address. The overall notion here is that most children's programming consists of promoting good habits, good morals, good good good. However, in order for something to be understood as "good," there has to be something bad for it to contrast with. this particular print somewhat deviates from that because I simply wanted to exaggerate the "bear" part of the Care Bears.

I had various large tables available for use whenever I was working on it. The block was only 6'9" tall by about 3.5' wide, which is about the size of our studio tables.

holy crap, that is an inspired idea.
there is something off-kilter about the whole concept of the "teddy bear" as a comforting icon for children.
but i think that most things created for children really exist to make adults feel better about the nature of childhood.

I saw one of these prints with Drive By Press yesterday and I remember seeing it here on deviantart. I am very impressed with this and I just wanted to say that deviantart does not even begin to do it justice. I want to know how you print that large!

This is one of the funniest drawings I've seen on dA. And all 6 feet 9 inches were superbly drawn.

It's actually a relief print, so the final mark making was done by a wood carving tool.
