Hey guys, I've received several print requests for this thing. I've had it as a print in my shop for quite some time now, so please drop by and check it out! [link]The image is 6'9" tall on canvas that's about 7'4" tall. Relief print with screened color and painted color (blue). This is part of my ongoing undergraduate print series that deals with the issues that children's stories/TV programs don't address. The overall notion here is that most children's programming consists of promoting good habits, good morals, good good good. However, in order for something to be understood as "good," there has to be something bad for it to contrast with. this particular print somewhat deviates from that because I simply wanted to exaggerate the "bear" part of the Care Bears.

That is freakin' fantastic. And so true about our ideals for children. I think we introduce them to reality and blind them from it at the same time, and the results are often terrible.

The claws are a bit long, but I wanted them to be a prominent feature in the piece. And their lips DO flap like that! It's really funny!

Great concept, really it is. The only thing I would say that bothers me about this is the bear's eyes. They don't seem very bear like. I think if they looked more angry it would have a greater effect. Lovely work though!
