The sharpness of the ground and the contrast create a sense that you're not processing vision properly, like you're in a dream or hallucination. Overall, the image suggests one is about to hear a scream.

When I was doing video production professionally I had a quote posted on the wall of the edit suite - "It's easier to be done than satisfied." How very true.
