Any advice on dealing with those tough shadows? Obviously you don't have a massive diffuser...

No diffuser, this is handled mostly in post-procssing, a lot of dodging/burning went into this. The Subway usually presents challenging conditions.

How long did it take you to hike this one? I've heard it's a full day's hike with swimming but I've also heard that it's easy if you go back country.

I think it took around 3-4 hours, the top down is a funner way to get in there, but for photography gear, the bottom up is the drier option.

I'll have to keep that in mind next time I visit. Been to Zion twice and both times, the weather wasn't working with me.
