Description
This was taken in Little Cottonwood Canyon near SLC, Utah.As you can the area has received more snow that it has in decades, and the snow effects almost every living thing inhabiting the area.
For us, the commute to work is slowed and is more dangerous, while animals like deer and elk are fighting for their lives trying to find enough food under the enormous amount of snow.
What drew me to this small exposed section of the stream was the texture of the deep snow piled high above. The texture was created by the recent storm along with gravity pulling loose snow down into the stream. Also the shape of the rocks created some nice lines through the image.
Full view helps.
Canon 5D. 24-105mm. HDR. Circ Polar

Beautiful - I love the warmth of the photo, especially the patch of rich red in the rock. Well composed, feels like it's glowing.

Thanks, if the anti-HDR king himself (Hougaard) approves I think it must be alright.

Great work, can't tell it's HDR at all. This photo kind of disproves everything I've used to back my argument. well done
