Second verse, same as the first, this time with six shows back from Revisitecember 2!

#6 - Stone Protectors - I've said this before in some showcases, but if something is the least likely for me to acquire interest in, it's usually the first to be dealt with. Stone Protectors emerged in 1993 from the relentless trend of TMNT knockoffs. However... unlike every other knockoff/alternative, the reason it flopped was the fact that it wasn't Saturday Morning Exclusive, and it was only on four VHS tapes to promote both the VHS series as well as the toys and video game. Here's how it goes: Five members of a crappy band called "Rock Detectors" stumbled across some strange magical stones, which are sought by Zok, an evil music-hating reptile-like creature. Princess Opal of Mythrandir split a powerful magic stone into six pieces, and Zok only has one. He wants to gather them all and reforge the original magic stone in order to become all powerful. The crystals make each band member gain awesome powers (including making their band not as lame as they used to in any sort of way), and they are whisked away to Mythrandir to help save Princess Opal's land from Zok. Now, pay attention. It said that the band was given members to transform into these creatures. Does that ring a bell? The crappy 1992 Battletoads pilot? King Arthur and the Knights of Justice? Well, yeah, that premise of transforming into the warriors may have been that (while Street Sharks may have been an irreversible change on the human protagonists), but more importantly, it was based on troll dolls. To be honest, I have to at least give this credit for making a cartoon about troll dolls that was surprisingly not a Smurf or Care Bear premise! But anyways, if you're looking for a cartoon based on those toys, Trollz is obviously the better option, despite its valley girl attitude. And after all that hard work of finally understanding why it flopped, my opinion on it still stays strong. At least it tried!

#5 - The Drinky Crow Show - At this point, even though I keep mentioning KingZanderSanchez-i in these showcases through and through, it kinda feels like his mantle has passed down onto me. I mean, he's a great reviewer, even though he said he's been having health issues and I haven't heard from him since January. (I hope it's not COVID too...) Either way, one of his reviews was for a comic series called The Unfunnies, in which he said it was the worst thing he'd ever seen. It didn't get animated either! It was essentially about this crow or raven or magpie who got arrested for child pornography and became entirely unstable, and the whole series got put away in the dust. Now, look at The Drinky Crow Show, a 2008 Adult Swim show made by Tony Millionaire & Eric Kaplan. Sure, the protagonist is a black bird, but he's not a sadist because he feels remorse and self-doubt thanks to his cursed alcohol addiction. (And yes, Zander said he loved this show even though it was a short and sweet ten episodes.) Either way, Drinky Crow and his monkey buddy, Uncle Gabby work on this ship in the ocean with their boss, the Captain always muttering behind their backs on how lazy they are. And with Gabby's girlfriend Captain's Daughter in their relationship, who wouldn't expect a decent cheat? It's all in a days work while fending off the French! Who are alligators... for some reason. Trust me, it's worth the watch, not just because the theme song is by They Might Be Giants.

#4 - Weiss Kreuz - And now... we crawl into the depths of the 90s to pull out this forgotten anime. If you're looking for the original dub, don't use KissAnime or WatchCartoonOnline. Practically, it's split into two parts, and you can find the dub on YouTube far easier than on the sites. Here's how it goes: Aya, Yoji, Ken, and Omi are the four young men who comprise Weiss Kreuz (WK), an assassin group who eliminates certain menaces to society. But that's only by night - by day, the quartet are heartthrob flower shop employees. Each member has his own trademark fighting style. Aya is adept at fighting with a katana, Yoji has mastered the art of strangulation via strings, Ken is lethal with his metal claws, while Omi specializes in a wide array of projectiles. Under the command of a mysterious man known only as "Persia", the WK is dispatched to take care of drug rings, terrorist factions, and the like. But as things go along, they discover that most, if not all, the bad elements they have dealt with are somehow connected to the Takatori family. The Takatori family is rich, powerful, and influential. It seems if the problem is to be nipped in the bud, the WK would have to put an end to one of Japan's most prominent clans. If you look at it this way, having the dub name being changed to "Knight Hunters" makes you think that 4Kids was all over it. Although it had Dan Green in it, 4Kids wouldn't touch this. (Plus, its dub name of Knight Hunters fits well since "Weiss Kreuz" was also the name of a neo-Nazi group, even though there is absolutely no trace of racism in the anime.) So be glad I dug up this rare one, and watch it to your heart's content, I guess. They also had a sequel, Weiss Kreuz Gluhen (Knight Hunters Eternity), but that's another story. Also, check out this spacey intro: www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6xxUf…

#3 - Dark Oracle - Even after the time of the 90s with epic Canada-based youth horror shows such as Are You Afraid of the Dark? and Goosebumps, the suspense didn't end there. In the mid 2000s, YTV released two shows with similar elements of both (as well as some sci-fi elements from Animorphs and Power Rangers), and oddly enough, BOTH shows featured Barbara Mamabolo. Except in this one, it's more horror-based, she's more of a supporting character, AND the animation isn't CGI! (The other show she was in I mentioned vaguely was Zixx, which lasted for 39 episodes.) Also like Zixx, Mia & Me, and every other Power Rangers series out there, this 2004 shocker is both on WatchCartoonOnline and KimCartoon. Kinda makes sense, if it was part of your childhood. Now then, don't freak out, but... what if a comic book could change your life? It may seem not valid, but that's what happens when Callie (Paula Brancati), a 15-year-old, finds a comic book called "Dark Oracle" in her bag, and automatically suspects her twin brother, Lance (Alex House), shoplifted it. Truthfully, he said no, and the comic book shop was closed for that night. While doing some interest through the book, Callie discovers a page where another classmate notes that she found a love note in her locker. Admittingly, she thought it was stupid. The next day, she realizes the love note in her locker and her friend finding it! That's when she learns the truth of the comic book. Since it is called "Dark Oracle", its pages reveal events that happen to either Callie or Lance tomorrow, where the pages were just blank the previous day! But what is the actual truth BEHIND the book anyway? And where did it come from? 26 episodes are waiting for you to turn the pages if you dare... but if you should take the risk, let the suspense unfold. (It's also on a PlutoTV kids channel, but in a Spanish dub. You're better off with YouTube. And this was released during a time teen drama was actually enjoyable.)

#2 - ATOM: Alpha Teens on Machines - Time to rev up the France 3/Jetix gears in your brain for this next one! Airing back on Jetix in 2005, this is an interesting concept on the "young people are so stupid, will believe anything" trope. (No offense to any 'young people' who might be reading this. Also, this features exceptional villain roles provided by Clancy Brown and Tom Kenny.) So here's how it all begins: Billionaire Janus Lee of Lee Industries has hosted a reality show called "Trackdown", that will never air. And to his luck, he's found five of the city's newest age of heroes. Led of course, by Axel Manning. (Alongside his teammates - King, Shark, Lioness, and Hawk.) Primarily Mr. Lee, who has a mysterious past and a somewhat short temper, also had Axel and co. test the vehicles and weapons his industry has made. As for the story, it's split into two arcs: The first is agains Alexander Paine, the man who killed Axel's father, and is in need of some vengeance talking down to him. But for the second arc... it turns out that Axel and his team were only tested by Janus Lee and the facts behind his "reality show plot", which would have the true villain revealed... in addition to copies of the team based off of the animals they represented. Nonetheless, it's gonna be a really long road for Axel and his team. To say that it knocks off both X-Men and TMNT would be a most likely factor, but at least it got the job done right!

#1 - Polly Pocket (2018) - Of course, I've saved the best for last! Sort of... I still stand my ground that this show is still one of the best and most underrated 2018 offered. When I first reviewed this, even before it got the Revisitedecember treatment, I had no interest in it, until KingZanderSanchez-i  said he liked it. I mean, he DID like Littlest Pet Shop, so this wasn't too far off considering he thought both those series were entertaining, along with both series being in the Vancouver voice acting pool! And I was the one that reviewed it! Pretty weird, right? Anyway, I had to see it for myself, and oh boy... was Zander ever right about it. (Like I said, it feels like I now carry his mantle.)

Nonetheless in 2018, the folks at Hit Animation not just made a new Polly Pocket cartoon... they got the handle on how to properly make a Polly Pocket cartoon. (Aside from a 2006 direct-to-DVD flick where she was the daughter of a widowed rich man.) In this series, Polly is a pre-tween inventress, who always enjoys tinkering with gadgetry and making mods in her room. One day, her grandmother visits, and Polly accidentally breaks her grandmother's locket. But on contrary, her granny said that the locket has been broken for years, but it's never just simply opened like that. Nonetheless, Polly gets experimenting, and soon learns the secret power of the locket, where she learns the ability to shrink to four inches tall on command! Even weirder is that Polly's granny was the most recent bearer, and it has been passed down for generations! (Earliest probably during the medieval golden age Europe.) Practically the reason why the locket was broken was because of an old friend of her grandma's, Griselle Grande, who runs a clothing store at the Littleton Mall, and has an obsession with miniatures. But now that Polly has fixed it, the obsession spark of Ms. Grande has been reignited, and she will stop at nothing to regain the power. Even if her granddaughter Gwen is sort of an imbecile second banana in the plans. Polly isn't alone on being the most recent locket bearer, however. Her friends Shani and Lila also are fascinated by the locket's power, but they're trusted by Polly and the secret stays between them, and Polly's grandma. And in a world where you can become four inches tall, being small isn't a weakness to Polly, it's an advantage!

Now, for another point on why it's underrated and why most people never witnessed such something like this. Remember Dan Vs.? I unfortunately do. Dan Vs. sucked not because of its repetition, but most people who have watched it claim it never unleashed its full potential since it was on The Hub, which was a kids network, and it had elements on something that should belong on Fox Sunday nights or Adult Swim. Polly Pocket shared a similar fate. Unlike Dan Vs., I said before that I really enjoy this series as it is creative in its own unique way to put a spin on the toy series, and didn't actually suffer limits since it was meant to be a kids show! Except, it was a Canadian import which wound up on Universal Kids. (I know, who the heck cares about that network either, but that's pointless now because of the internet.) Kind of like an example of wrong place, right time. I still wanted a second season, and soon enough, my wish came true! But... it was riddled with flaws. First, it was Youtube exclusive. Second, it was demoted down to eleven minutes of casual adventures with Polly had her friends. And third, the Grandes aren't even in it. I know, they were hated to the point they were killed off, but in a way, they at least made the show interesting. (I learned about these flaws from shadowpump4567 and he said that he wished for a Christmas special in which the Grandes return for their "redemption arc". If you haven't checked out his S2 review for it, you should.) But seriously, if you're looking for a toy-based cartoon but think that MLP and Transformers are too mainstream, you'd be surprised on how much potential and enjoyment Polly Pocket brings! (First season especially recommended!)
