Description
A scene that came to me as I was trying to sleep Friday night after one majorly awesome Apocalyptica concert. "Beautiful" inspired this one. Speed Painting, 14 hours spent. (far longer than intended)My ranger Delgar, spirit-walking through the eyes of his tod companion.

It is done in Photoshop, CS3, from start to finish. I used a couple filters and a texture to get the chalky/watercolour look to it, which I hoped would add to the mysticism. I hope that answers you!

I thought it looked a little like tablet work, but you did too good of a job making it look textured!
What tablet do you use?
I bought a cheap tablet a while ago and it's okay, but it's hard to get precision out of it and it likes to skip.

Funny story, that. When I first got it, I thought it was pressure sensitive. And in trying to get it to work, I gouged the surface of mine something horrible. xD Then, my friend enlightened me and told me it wasn't...

Haha, that's pretty good. =V Mine is scratched up too, but probably only because the surface is cheap.
When I first got mine, I kept trying to flip the tablet pen over and use the eraser to correct my mistakes. Of course cheap electronic pens do not work in this way. Now, every time I make a bad mistake on real paper I reach for the undo key! Doh.

It turned out very nice! The transition really works. I love the guy's face, his arm, and especially his leg/foot. The tendon is a really nice touch.

I was going for either watercolor on rough-board, or chalk for the texture. Definately wanted something soft for this one. Thank you for the compliment!

With his version of spirit-walking, that isn't far from the truth! Essentially, his soul leaves his body for a time, leaving only a breathing shell behind.
