First upload - on dA - of 2018! Yay! So thanks again to a fabulous artist has been brought to my attention, and one who happens to be hosting a contest. Blimey, it's Dyingstar460 all over again
This time the host is
The basic principle is create art of any of her - vast collection of - RPG characters. Further details about the contest can be found here: [LeilaAscariz RPG Character Contest]
Based on what people have entered so far, I noticed an abscence of entries featuring her Wilder Elf, Dalindra, so thought i'd take a chance. Plus any character who was inspired by a Nightwish song gets major favouritism from me
Now I have to be honest; the grassy background texture is the result of photoshop's 'fill pattern' effects. I hope you can forgive me Miss Ascariz for taking such a shortcut, but not only do I have a rocky relationship with deadlines but upcoming circumstances were going to make things harder to find time to spend for working on this - on top of everything, I could be moving soon as part of a project to get my name higher up on the housing list. Still, if I lose a few points for this during the judging, I accept that. Ultimately I just really wanted to get this complete and ready (I adored working on the colours for her skin + garments, and a return watch is not something I forget
).Let's hope other opportunities will come for me to attempt some fanwork of Dalindra or any other members of her Dragonlance cast.

You deserve every single nice comments you can get and more! To me your strong point is that you don't jusr draw the characters buy you make an effort to understand who they are and depict them in a way it captures their essence and personality, and that isn't something that many artists do. That makes your art really stand out to me. Keep at it ^^
I also fave and run a lot hahaha. Just not enough time for so many awesome pieces.

When I looked at the reference artworks miss Ascariz had on display in her journal, sylessae's piece caught my eye;
I loved the whole enchanted forest atmosphere, and it was a great inspiration for the background and surroundings (which I'm normally very poor at

I can't tell you how happy I am that I participated, not only did I love working on Dalindra but some of the colour experiments I did for her skin and garments are gonna greatly benefit some of my own projects (more skin tone options for future members of the Infinity Brawl roster anyone?).

I'm really glad you like it. Praise from the character's creator is always a major win
I consider myself fortunate that it I was able to get an entry ready to avoid any conflict with my upcoming moving day, and that it came out so well that it's recieved the reception it has despite how quick I found myself working (would you believe me if i told you I started drawing last saturday and finished the art just moments before I uploaded it on the following day
I've never been good with deadlines which is why I often shy away from contests, but I can't tell you how happy I am that I made an exception this time
Trust me when I say it's praise well deserved. Well, you got me blushing with the praise you've been giving me, so I say that makes us even

And I believe you worked so fast, I vary from taking a couple of weeks or just a few hours depending on my inspiration! I got Ysma done in about 3-4 hours! I am really slow in digital art though.
Good luck with the move! I moved last year and it was crazy!
