I like to play it off as comedic that she's got a bad disguise and all these obvious things that give away she's a monster but people don't recognize her as one as long as she's wearing an outfit like she is.
And yes she did. While she doesn't eat humans. Pet around her are a bad idea.

Funnily enough, it reminds me of another comic I read on deviantART, where a guy who's a demon gets a disguise that makes him look like a pimp. Nobody seems to notice the purple "skin" or the horns, and assume it's part of his pimp attire. To make matters worse, the two girls who hand out with him are always assumed to be hookers because of this.
Poor dog... I hope the little thing at least tasted good.

More like "The comedy is people are really dumb, because she wears a few simple people-looking clothes and everyone thinks she's a normal person. Its the classic comedy of a crappy disguise that works surprisingly and unexplainably well.
