for more information about the character: [link]OMG Oh My Gawd... Against all odds and all work I jumped into this and in a day of commuting and an evening of continuously continuing It's done.
Done for a little challenge in a group I'm in called We-The-Artists.
The set theme was night and I figured that it was time to put a character that's been wandering my head for ages on a paper.
How does he relate to night? Well Shade as I like to call him and with the lack of a true name is the sort of guy you don't want to meet in the middle of the night. He's ruthless, without remorse and immensely powerful. Yet, he's only as powerful as his foe.
There's a MAJOR flaw on the left side of the mask near the middle. it makes me slightly sad :<
I also experimented with the lighting since people have been pointing me to reflective light which I still don't understand >.<;
maybe I still got the gist of it hehe
also I only realized the resemblance to darth vader a couple of days after finishing the base sketch
feedback is wanted and loved
EDIT: I didn't win, but I did get a feature so my goal has pretty much been reached <33

first thing I'd like to say would be please, don't put such huge full-views, because it prevents people to have a better look. the original size, when it's so big, should be kept in the download zone, because you can't see the full drawing at once on a normal screen... kinda bothering ! but that is in no way related to your work's quality, of course. that's just so you know !
so well, concerning your works.. nice shading on the metallic parts, we can tell you put effort in these, and I think it's pretty nice ! but then there's the big coat, which was clearly less loved... that's a bit of a shame, because it lowers down the visual impact of your character, which could be 20% cooler just by having a coat as nicely shaded than the mask. I know clothes are hard, but you can always google some pictures to help you !
good point that you use all grays from black to white. bit of a bad point that your dark part to make the head stand out is so rushed. some artists manage to get a really cool rushed effect but sadly it takes years to master so for now maybe spend more time on it ? that's a tricky point, actually.

I'll try to make my dark parts less rushed as well ^^ (I usually get excited "It's almost done!!!!"

ahaha in art there are no shortcuts, rushing is bad !
just like when you drive and decide to take a shortcut and end up completely lost in a forest calling for help for hours.

Nah, I think it's good as it is. If you want to do the character in color, just redraw it in a different pose and color it

aww thanks, but there's still zillions I don't understand about shadow.
(for example someone pointed out the hood should be highlighted up front instead of the back)

actually I do have some of a story though it can still use some more fleshing out
