I saw the lineart and I just couldn't resist. I went for a sort of bright, storybook colouring style to best fit with the cute, cartoony look of the lineart. But really... to be honest, I'm not that good at colouring in. I'm better at colouring on.
Thankfully, paintovers are acceptable in the contest. And I remembered to add back in ~Mio09 's little URL after I painted over it. 
I made the swirly tendril things look a little like earthworms which was unintentional, but never mind. I guess they could be worms. Happy, happy worms.
I'll try to do something less sickeningly cute for my next deviation.

This is stunningly beautiful! You've captured the most spirited and childlike essence of each character, Alice so curious it literally burns within her and the Cat so roguish he can't help but gloat above her. I also love the softness of the coloring and lighting and the fact that the Cat is orange. I've never seen that coloration on him before, and it fits wonderfully. Good luck with the contest, if it hasn't happened already!
