Description Art skills I haz none.

It's for a Fresme roleplay on tumblr called Spring and Winter (inspired by the Hades and Persephone myth) .

Esmeralda's pose is based on this picture .

The tree is based on this picture .

Frollo is not based on any one picture, it's just looking at pictures of robes/cloaks and screencaps.

Trust me, I know the feeling. But it's best not to worry about it. You know, maybe you feel that way, but somewhere out there someone is looking at your art and thinking, "...I wish I were that good..."

We all have people better than us, and people we're better than...even pro devs. (I was lucky enough recently to be praised and even Watched by a pro dev whose work I adore, an actual published author! And I was shocked at how shocked she seemed by my fangirling. She said she's a fangirl herself, and was really honored to have a fangirl of her own.)

Besides, art quality is subjective...what one person really loves, another person may not like as much, and vice versa. Just create because you love to create, don't worry about anything or anyone else. I can see you really care Frollo and Esme, and that's alll that matters. Love your muses, and others will love your work.

That's... pretty much the nicest thing to be said. Ever. Thank you so very much for taking the time to write these lovely words of positive encouragement. It means a lot. It's great to read about your experience about getting a Watch from a pro dev too.

Words seem to fail me now. Just, thank you, thank you, thank you.

I'm glad I could help! Because your artwork really is amazing. I'm in love with your ideas and the detail you put into executing them. And thank you so much for the !

If I may make one tiny bit of constructive criticism...the reflection of the light on Esme's eyes makes her pupils really light, almost unnoticeable, and I feel that gives her a slightly vacant look. I don't know if that was intentional or not. The idea of blissful innocence and naivete would be very in keeping with the spirit of the "Spring & Winter" idea. However, it isn't very much in keeping with Esmeralda's character as portrayed in the Disney film. So I just thought I'd alert you.

I hope that isn't rude. As I said before, this is generally quite gorgeous. I love the shading, the attention to details like small folds in Frollo's robes, the colouration--the soft pastels for Esme's side, the harsh dull colours on Frollo's. (BTW, what did you use? I'm guessing watercolour paints and coloured pencils? Maybe some markers for details?) I really also love Frollo's facial features and expression; his angular beauty is so hard to capture, yet you captured him very well, without just copying the art style of the film. (Your style here seems to be part anime, part realism, and part Disney, and it works really well.) I also just love the general idea behind this piece.

I really need to cave and get a Tumblr account already...

Not rude at all! And you're completely on the mark. There is sooooo much to improve on my stuff. Sooooooooo much. I used pencils and ink to draw. The colors I actually use an online program because it's... easier than water colors. *hides face*

Lol, yeah, part anime, I can't seem to get away from it. And I have nooooo style at all. Everything I do comes out different. -_-

Haha, tumblr sucks your life, believe you me! And you're totally welcome for the watch, and thank you for your comments, as always!

I adore this concept. It clearly shows the difference between the two and their personalities.

How can you say you have no art skills?! This is truly beautiful! *featured in favorites.

It looks amazing! The soft colors of Esmeralda's cloak contrasts very well with Frollo's. The scenery in the background also looks very calm
