Description
Chibi IA just wanted everyone to see what the air conditions are like in Northern California at the moment (Oct/Nov 2018). The fog in the back is actually smoke from the Camp Fire still burning up in the north. It has been like that ever since that calamitous fire started. The picture was taken at around noon time in mid-town Milpitas in the Bay Area. Although not shown in this image, the smoke is evident in every direction that you look. You can't really smell the smoke but it is made of very fine particles that can (and do) get into your lungs. Many people, especially those with respiratory issues have taken the prudent step of wearing face masks and there's actually reported shortages in supplies at the stores at the moment.
There were similar conditions during the last large fire during the summer but this time around due to the prevalent weather conditions the situation has persisted.
Technical pointers
As some of you know, I've been messing around with MikutureAR, using that as a tool to create Augmented Reality images with MMD models on an Android platform. This image, however, is done using MMD. The method was to simply use my camera phone to take the picture and upload it to the Cloud. This was then downloaded to my laptop and used as a background image in MMD. The Chibi IA model was then added, posed and shaded with MMEs. Finally the lighting was adjusted to match the light conditions in the photo. The render is straight from MMD with no editing.
