Description
Finally, here is the color picture of Moonracer transformed into Lunaurigatrix Prime by the Matrix. For those who remember the line art here: [link] this was for a line art contest from last year to turn any character who had never been given the Matrix in canon, a Matrix-powered upgrade. I had decided to give one of the female Autobots the Matrix, and since Elita-1 was pretty much already a Prime, I decided to take the youngest of all of them and make her the new "Prime". Thus, Lunaurigatrix Prime (which is Latin for "Moonracer First")

Hey, I know this is 9 years old, but... how do pronounce that prime name?

Oh, ok. Thanks.
Also, it's a bit of a mouthful. So, I'll just call her Luna. And Moonracer as a prime? That has to be a major step for her.

Itβs Latin. Itβs derived from two words: Luna, meaning βmoonβ, and Aurigatrix (the feminine of Aurigator), meaning a chariot racer.

possibly one of the first 'femme' Primes I'd wager?

Well, the first female Prime was Solus Prime, one of the Original Thirteen Primes. TFA also had a couple, including Override Prime (based upon the Cybertron character Override).

I support the idea of a female prime and this artwork is very good!

Thanks. Of course, canonically, we do finally have a few female Primes, including one of the Original Thirteen, Solus Prime. None of them were Matrix holders, though, that we know of.

Excellent drawing. I wish more female Transformers were made into toys (from Hasbro and TakaraTomy, of course).

It was on the IDW message boards, and was waaaay bay in 2008, so the thread is buried i don't know how many pages back. Here's the link to the IDW forums if you want to look for the thread (it would be in the Fan Art forum). However, if you simply want to see the original line art for this piece, it's in my gallery here as well.

Well, Elita One pretty much is one already. Even her name is synonymous with Optimus Prime's

Well, she is. Of the females at least. She's of equal rank and status to Optimus, not his subordinate.

Neat! I like the way the exhaust pipes mimic the shoulder armor of her original character model.

Fantastic drawing, absolutely beautiful! It's about time femmes other than Arcee and Elita (both of which I love don't get me wrong) get the spotlight.
