The hand is the easiest to talk to, mostly because of the ability to make a 'talking' sock puppet with it. Maybe for Transformers a gun or laser pipe would be the analogue.
Plus where do you think the phrase 'talk to the hand' comes from?

Not so much Shockwave, though. I'd imagine him to actually enjoy the peace and quiet of a few million years alone. I'd bet that Megatron re-establishing contact was more annoying than anything else.

It's a hilarious answer to the question: "What did Shockwave do for 4 millions years, while Megatron and his crew were gone?"
The naive G1 cartoon seemed to imply that he just spent all that time wating and trying to contact Megatron.

Uhm...no, I disagree, I've seen like every episode of seinfeld 2 to 10 times and , well, this doesnt feel like that kind of humour at all. This feels like bad internet voice-over comedy to me.

I must say I dig the concept, like insane ramblings of some lunatic left alone....although, I think this approach would be more fitting to describe one lonely afternoon in the life of Animated Lugnut.....I believe this cold calculating bastard actually enjoys his time alone!
However, this is cartoon Shockwave, which puts this not to far from truth...

Comes across more as something of a rip off of Dr Smoov's 'Shockwave's Burden' to me.
