Description
Based on an idea I had after seeing Iron Man 3, which, I'm sorry to say, I really did not like. Like, at all. I'll probably give it another chance when it comes out on DVD, but it straight up pissed me off in the theater. (And not even the Mandarin thing, before anyone ask. Dude wasn't even around in the short time I read Iron Man comics, so that really didn't have much impact on me. I just thought the movie was bad.)Anyway, on my way home, I got to thinking about how the third movie in any geek movie franchise is almost always lame. Hell, it's gotten Batman twice, first in Batman Forever and then again in Dark Knight Rises. So I started to imagine a supervillain based on that fact, and who better to stop him then Bill Murry, who's supposedly holding up Ghostbusters 3 because he's afraid of it being terrible.

Heh, it's always the final chapter in games that fail so hard for me. I can name a few - though you probably won't know what they are.
* Penumbra: Requiem
* The Journeyman Project 3: Legacy of Time
* Myst V: End of Ages
* Space Quest 6: The Spinal Frontier
The last series actually featured the "Sequel Police", who theoretically would ensure that a series runs its proper course, using time travel to keep it in check. Ah, if only that were true.

Wow, yeah. I don't really know games as well as comics or movies, but it sounds like an almost universal problem. I heard a lot of people got worked up over Mass Effect 3.

what's worse is that some companies died not long after their games went downhill, even leaving their good games in obscurity. Sierra On-Line is a major example.

This kinda reminds me of a Simpsons comic where everyone in Springfield suddenly gained superpowers, and Troy McClure became the Sequalizer, who could duplicate himself, but each duplicate was only half as strong as the last.

I had it as part of a collection of the short-lived "Bartman" spin-off comic.

Neat idea, but I'm not sure that Ghost Busters has to worry about Trilogy because they were already taken out by Sequel. As much as I love the first Ghost Busters I hate the second one. I feel the same way about the Highlander and Tremors movies. The first ones were brilliant and everything after sucked horribly.
I'm afraid I don't share your opinions about the superhero movies either. I enjoyed all the Iron-man movies, disliked all the Sam Raimi Spider-mans and I've never really been into Batman. This latest string of Batman movies were better than anything that had come before, but for me Batman is over rated.
I am really gratified that superhero movies have become popular, but as with any type of movie there will be ones you like and ones you don't. I just want them to keep making them and hopefully they will continue to improve.

See, I personally never quite understood the hate Ghostbusters 2 got. It's totally possible it's because I kinda grew up on it and I'm probably just seeing it with nostalgia goggles, but I've always felt it was underrated, not only as a sequel, but as a movie in general. It's not perfect, but neither is the first one. In fact, I think the court room scene is my favorite part of both movies together. But then again, I kinda liked Robocop 2 as well, so I clearly have weird taste.
The superhero movies are a mixed bag. LOVED the first Iron Man movie, second one was ... okay, and like I said, the third one really disappointed me. I can feel you on Spider-man, though. I really liked the first two, but the third one kinda retroactively ruined them for me. Now I just kinda hate Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst's stupid faces. lol And I can appreciate what you're saying about Batman, too. That's basically how I feel about Wolverine. I like both characters, but they tend to be overused. One of my big fears about a potential JLA movie (not that I'm 100% convinced it'll ever actually happen) is that it'll basically become a Batman movie with, oh yeah, these other guys running around I guess.
