"Dinosaurs and Men, two species separated for 65 millions years have suddenly been thrown back into the mix together. How could we have the slightest idea what to expect!"-Alan Grant, 1993
Before I talk about this picture I did, let's do an Introduction and history that started it and lead to this first:
If you haven't seen either of the films and so forth, a Spoiler Alert shall be warned!
Introduction: Jurassic Park (Timeline)
1981 to 1982- While running the Animal Kingdom in Nairobi, Kenya, since 1969 with Robert Muldoon, Dr. John Parker Hammond, the CEO and founder of International Genetic Technologies (InGen), begins laying the groundwork for a dinosaur theme park- Jurassic Park. He hires scientist, Dr. Laura Sorkin for a proof of concept and shows InGen that extinct DNA can be extracted from mosquitoes trapped in amber.
1982-Isla Sorna (Site B), 207 miles off the west coast of Costa Rica and one of the five archipelago islands of La Cinco Muertes (the "Five Deaths"), is leased from the Costa Rican Government to InGen and the company builds several facilities on the island to create and raise dinosaurs and other animal species.
1982 to 1984-Geneticist, Dr. Henry Wu makes a proposal to make the dinosaurs planned for Jurassic Park at a faster rate by filling in the sequence gaps with frog DNA as opposed to Dr. Sorkin's idea of creating the whole genome from just solely the DNA of a dinosaur. Dr. Wu is ultimately chosen by InGen to be the chief geneticist instead of Sorkin as his method would be easier, faster, and less costly. From this point on, Laura began to become resentful of Hammond, Wu, and InGen due to this decision.
1984-John Hammond and InGen succesfully cloned their first prehistoric animal of unknown species from DNA preserved in amber with his business partner, philanthropist Benjamin Lockwood.
1985-Hammond decides to build Jurassic Park on Isla Nublar, a neighboring island to Isla Sorna 87 northeast, instead of Jurassic Park: San Diego (that was constructed 5 years before) and leases it from the Costa Rican government that same time along with the archipelago islands of La Cinco Muertes.
1986-InGen recreated their first non-avian dinosaur after being extinct for 66 million years on Isla Sorna. It was an oversized, featherless Velociraptor (resembling Deinonychus). Initially, it was difficult to know what type of dinosaur was going to be created from the DNA trapped in amber, but subsequent successes, especially those of Dr. Henry Wu, quickly refined the process. Over time, InGen has successfully cloned more Mesozoic age animals on Site B and put them on their list. These are:
- Baryonyx (5)
- Brachiosaurus (10)
- Carnotaurus (2)
- Compsognathus (43)
- Dilophosaurus (12)
- Edmontosaurus (4)
- Gallimimus (20)
- Geosternbergia (Probably; Note: the exact numbers or even the species have not been revealed; it was considered a species of Pteranodon during the time hence the confusion, before it was given its own genus in 2010)
- Herrerasaurus (Probably; 4)
- Mamenchisaurus (4)
- Microceratus (dubbed 'Microceratops' during the time, before re-named Microceratus in 2008 after it was discovered that the former name had already been given to an insect) (22)
- Pachycephalosaurus (9)
- Parasaurolophus (13)
- Pteranodon (10)
- Stegosaurus (11)
- Triceratops (10)
- Tyrannosaurus rex (7)
- Velociraptor (18)
- Allosaurus (12% Complete as of 1996)
- Ankylosaurus (91% Complete as of 1996)
- Apatosaurus (57% Complete as of 1996)
- Corythosaurus (97% Complete as of 1996)
- Dimorphodon (36% Complete as of 1996)
- Euoplocephalus (9% Complete as of 1996)
- Metriacanthosaurus (71% Complete as of 1996)
- Pachyrhinosaurus (8% Complete as of 1996)
- Proceratosaurus (Uncertain)
- Segisaurus (48% Complete as of 1996)
- Suchomimus (labeled as an unnamed theropod during the time before its discovery and scientific description in 1998) (75% Complete as of 1996)
1988-Construction of Jurassic Park begins on Isla Nublar. The structures for Jurassic Park were mainly built in the eastern and northern part of the island. Two docks to easily transport supplies and workmen to the island, the North Docks and East Docks, were built, while a heliport was built in the south. A network of roads were built for efficient distribution, while a geothermal power plant, used to supply the construction sites and fences with, was built in the northern mountains which is very volcanic, including one mountain (house-shaped) known as Mount Sibo (named after the main god of the Tun-Si tribe that they believed to created the Earth and the animals of the world built the mountain). It is a mighty volcano that was dormant back and last erupted in 1525 in the form of black smoke rising from a peak in the North of Isla Nublar, rumored to have been the catalyst for Nicolas de Huelva's choice of name "Cloud Island" as well as the discovery of Isla Nublar by Spanish Navigator Diego Fernandez. Animals native to Isla Nublar includes the Nublar Tufted Deer, the Red-tailed boa, Brown pelican, Collard Aracari, and green sea turtle.
1990-When the Electric Fences around the paddocks were built, the first mature animals are moved from Site B to Isla Nublar for Jurassic Park and were housed in temporary paddocks until permanent park structures were completed. These animals are:
- Brachiosaurus (6)
- Compsognathus (Unknowingly a migrant from Isla Sorna that travel between cargo ships)
- Dilophosaurus (5)
- Gallimimus (24)
- Herrerasaurus (4)
- Parasaurolophus (15)
- Triceratops (3)
- Tyrannosaurus rex (Rexy/Roberta; she was recreated on Site B in 1988 and moved to Isla Nublar a year later)
- Velociraptor (8)
1991-After Subjects 4x, 6x, and 7x fail after 6 days due to karyolysis believed to be caused by having genetic structures incompatible with the Yellow-banded poison dart frog used in their creation, Dr. Henry Wu decides to use Common reed frog instead for creating Velociraptors. He would also use this in the creation of other dinosaur genera. Unknown to him and the other InGen scientists was that the reed frog as well other amphibians used in creating dinosaurs allowed them to change sex, thus allowing them to reproduce.
1992-Dr. Henry Wu and Jurassic Park game warden, Robert Muldoon discovers high collective intelligence in Velociraptor clones, solving their tasks through cooperation and coordinating their attacks, especially for their leader Muldoon dubbed the "Big One". Meanwhile, Dr. Sorkin is given the Isla Nublar Field Lab and at some point, she obtains a field assistant in David Banks. She eventually breeds 'Troodon' in her field lab, but because these maniraptorian theropods were unpopular and extremely terrifying, dangerous, highly intelligent (more than the raptors), and extremely venemous, Hammond later orders the 'Troodons' to be destroyed, but Sorkin refuses and studies them in private.
1993-Building continues on Isla Nublar until Jophery, a gatekeeper, is significantly injured (or killed) by a Velociraptor the "Big One" during a transfer to the holding pen. Major construction comes to a halt on Isla Nublar leaving many structures unfinished until Hammond receives endorsements from outside opinions, which his investors demand. At this time, Hammond has spent three hundred and fifty seven million dollars on the Visitor Centre alone. The park itself was set to open with the basic dinosaur tour using Ford Explorers, which was in-progress during the time. The other rides (such as the Jungle River Ride, Bone Shakers rollercoaster, etc.), exhibits (such as Marine Facility, Aviary, etc.), and paddocks that contained assets that were already moved in (Herrerasaurus and possibly Tylosaurus and Pteranodon), not yet moved from Site B (Stegosaurus and Baryonyx) and not yet fully cloned from there genome (Metriacanthosaurus, Proceratosaurus, Segisaurus, and Corythosaurus) were scheduled to come online in a Phase I and II within six-to-twelve months after the park was to be opened. Hammond was planning to build a Jurassic Park Europe if the park succeeded. By June 11th of that year, Hammond brought a team of scientists and experts to tour and investigate the safety of Jurassic Park. The scientists he and lawyer Donald Gennaro brought was paleontologist Dr. Alan Grant, paleobotanist Dr. Ellie Sattler, and renowned mathematician and Chaotician Dr. Ian Malcolm. Also invited were Hammond's grandchildren, Tim and Lex Murphy. Park vetrinarian, Dr. Gerry Harding brought his daughter Jessica. But things took a turn for the worse when during a tropical storm on the island, computer programmer Dennis Nedry hacked into InGen and uploaded a virus known as Whte rbt.obj that shut down the power and security systems in order to break into the Cold Storage Room and steal the viable dinosaur embryos for Lewis Dodgson of InGen's rival company, Biosyn, using a Barbasol can. As a result, the dinosaurs including the Tyrannosaurus rex and later the Velociraptors (such as the "Big One") broke out of their paddocks and enclosures and attack the people, bringing chaos and disaster. Several people, including Dennis Nedry himself, Donald Genarro, Robert Muldoon, John Raymond "Ray" Arnold (Chief engineer of the park), Dr. Sorkin, Billy Yoder (a mercenary), Oscar Morales (mercenary), etc lost their lives in this incident, while the survivors (such as Hammond, Grant, Ellie, Tim, Lex, Malcolm, the Hardings, and Nima Cruz) escape the island, though most of them were injured, especially Ian Malcolm. The Barbosal can in the end was apparently destroyed perhaps by the escaped T. rex accidentally. In the end, Isla Nublar is abandoned and Jurassic Park was canceled and destroyed for good, while the dinosaurs roamed free on the island. Hammond's hopes and dreams were crushed and gone whilst accepting that the park was a failure. In the aftermath of those tragic days, InGen was going through a downward tailspin as the “demolition-deconstruction” of the island alone cost InGen $126 million. The costs of paying off survivors for their silence, along with the tens of millions of dollars from lawsuits by the families of those who died (Genarro, Arnold, and Muldoon) in the incident pushed InGen onto the verge of Chapter 11. During Ian Malcolm's recovery, Sarah Harding, a biologist, animal bahaviorlist, and one of Gerry's daughters, ventures to see him in Costa Rica to see if the rumors of resurrected dinosaurs were true.
1994-Hurricane Clarrissa struck Isla Sorna and forces InGen to evacuate and abandoned the island and leave the dinosaurs and pterosaurs to roam around and fend for themselves. Since then, the non-avian dinosaurs and pterosaurs of Site B survived the hurricane and as Ian Malcolm points out in 1997, they should have succumbed to the Lysine Contingency and died after about 6 or 7 days, but Hammond reveals that the animals are actually thriving on the island as well as explaining that carnivores tend to group towards the middle of the island while herbivores stay mostly on the outer rim. On October 5th of that year, an InGen clean-up team with Dr. Wu's assistance went to Isla Nublar to perform an analysis of '93 incident and record the current state of the island's dinosaur inhabitants. Their report, as published in 1996, documented the state of the park and noted that the lysine contingency had failed to kill off the remaining dinosaurs. They also noted that while animal numbers were reduced [such as Gallimimus (9) and Parasaurolophus (9) by the Tyrannosaurus rex], a relatively stable ecosystem had been established (such as the 5 Dilophosaurus that survived and were adapted to life without human care). They even noticed that the T. rex was even attempting to hunt the Brachiosaurus. They also recorded they had discovered the remains of adolescent Velociraptors (suggesting the presence of a sustained population on the island) and the presence of Compsognathus, a species bred on Sorna but which had never been transported to Nublar (it was suggested they hopped between islands via cargo ships). They also found that the Triceratops that was sick in 1993 had died during it and was then scavenged by the tyrannosaur, as well as finding one Brachiosaurus that died due to malnutrition. They also find that the Herrerasaurus population is extinct during the incident as they were found dead (though its DNA samples survived, albiet only 60% complete). Dr. Sorkin's 'Troodons' were probably destroyed by the clean up team. They also found Dennis Nedry's remains and an examination of his involvement with corporate espionage began after Gerry Harding disclosed information in personal report that suggested that the embryos were stolen in an effort to sell them off to a competing company. They also note that in the Cold Storage Room, the insulated pipe that transfers liquid nitrogen into the embryo storage units was severely damaged during Nedry's sabotage, causing a rise in temperature resulting in a total loss of all viable embryos as well as extensive water damage (leading to the artificial lake outside of the Visitor Center) that caused damage to the exposed foundations within the lower levels of the Visitor Center. The cause of the burst in the pipe is unknown, but InGen suggested that a minor tectonic activity within the then dormant Mt. Sibo was the answer. Among the species lost by it was the Proceratosaurus who's only embryos were destroyed (along with 'Troodon's') and the only DNA samples of it were destroyed during Site B's evacuation. (the possible Tylosaurus that was trapped in the unfinished Marine Facility was likely starved and died)
1995-After his recovery from his injuries, Ian Malcolm violates his non-disclosure agreement by speaking publicly in a television interview about what happened on Isla Nublar in 1993. InGen, however, undertook a dedicated effort to discredit Malcolm's claim. The Washington Post and the Skeptical Inquirer refute his claims, under pressure from Hammond's nephew, Peter Ludlow using a combination of legal loopholes, misinformation, and outright bribes in order to maintain a favorable reputation for the company. Out of a desire to preserve Costa Rica’s reputation as a safe tourist paradise, Costa Rican officials contributed to the cover-up as well, stating in print: “John Hammond and InGen’s work is filed under genetic research for an ecological preserve. There is no evidence or credibility to far-fetched claims of living dinosaurs.” Ultimately, the misdirection worked. The public became convinced that Dr. Malcolm was lying and that InGen was not responsible for any wrongdoing as a result of their genetics program. Through this, Jurassic Park was dismissed as a hoax. As a result of this, Ian Malcolm lost his tenure at the University he works at for “allegedly” receiving money although he denied ever accepting any. InGen and Peter Ludlow originally had a secret terrible plan known as Operation Clean Sweep, that was going to be used kill off all the unpopular animals on Isla Nublar with "inexplicable causes", with the help by the military using various poisonous gases: Sodium Fluoride, Sodium Cyanide, Phosphorus Trichloride, and Acetonitrates. The unpopular animals that they were going to kill off using such gases was the Brachiosaurus. This top secret mission was called off and abandoned thankfully, due to the 1994 clean up being a successful acquisition of valuable information as well as the fact, as Ludlow states, that it was succesfully carried out as “demolition-deconstruction” and disposable of Isla Nublar's facility organic and inorganic alone cost InGen $126 million.
"An extinct animal brought back to life has no rights. It exists because we (InGen) made it. We patented it. We own it!"
-Peter Ludlow, 1997
"I believe I've spent enough time in the company of death!"
-Roland Tembo, 1997
1997-A British family known as the Bowmans on a yacht cruise stumbles on the Isla Sorna and their little girl, Cathy is attacked by several Compsognathus. Peter Ludlow uses the incident to take over InGen and replace his uncle Hammond as the new CEO of the company. Knowing that Ludlow is planning an expedition team (including hunters led big game hunter from Kenya Roland Tembo and paleontologist Dr. Robert Burke) to Site B to capture the dinosaurs to be displayed in the once-planned and canceled Jurassic Park: San Diego on May of that year, Hammond sends his own team to Isla Sorna to document the dinosaurs in order to gain public support for the isolation of Isla Sorna as a natural preserve. The teams are Ian Malcolm (reluctantly as he goes out to search for Sarah), Sarah Harding (whom he sent early), Nick Van Owen (a photographer and Greenpeace), Eddie Carr (field equipment expert), and inadvertently Ian's daughter Kelly (whom she stowed away during it). However, once on the island, the clashing of Ludlow's and Hammond's teams causes chaos to break loose as Hammond's team sabotaged Ludlow's camp and releases the captured dinosaurs and destroyed their camp and equipments, while the Hammond's team's efforts of curing an injured baby Tyrannosaurus rex (injured by the hunters) causes the tension on his parents that attacked and destroyed their camp and kills Eddie Carr. Afterwards, the survivors on both teams have to combine forces and hike to the InGen Worker's Village who's power is controlled by geothermal in order to send a distress call. After a few days of hiking, the teams encounter various carnivorous theropod dinosaurs of the island: a pack of Compsognathus, pair of parent Tyrannosaurs, and then a pack of Velociraptors outside a field of long grass. The numbers of the teams (including the InGen hunters such as Dieter Stark, Carter, and Ajay Sidhu, and Dr. Burke) were diminishing as a result of them, while the rescue call is made and the teams are airlifted out. Unfortunately, before Ludlow is able to salvage his operation by capturing a male T. rex tranquilized by Roland (he later quits InGen after learning the loss of his friend, Ajay). However on May 25th, disaster strikes when the Tyrannosaur Buck breaks loose from the cargo ship, S. S. Venture and rampages through San Diego, creating terror in the city streets, causing property damage, and the losses of one person and a dog. Using the infant T. rex that was sent to park in the city, Malcolm and Sarah managed to lure the male dinosaur into the cargo ship, tranquilize him, and have the Venture return him to Site B where he belongs, along with the Infant. Ludlow was killed during it and Jurassic Park: San Diego was once again canceled and abandoned. After this incident, Isla Sorna is declared a restricted zone by both the US and Costa Rican governments and deliberation begins by both on what should be done with the island. As a result of the San Diego Incident, the world was now aware of the existence of InGen's cloned non-avian dinosaurs and other Mesozoic age animals, as well as finding out that Malcolm was telling the truth about the '93 Incident on Isla Nublar, thus restoring his reputation. Since then, despite the island being restricted, humans have step foot on Site B, as poachers with their vessels were rumored to be spotted around both Sorna and Nublar, while an illegal-parasailing tour known as Dino-Soar was formed to tour around Site B. As a reaction of the incident, the Ethical Negligence within Paleo-Genetic Resurrection (ENPGR) Bill, better known as the Gene Guard Act, is passed. Formed by the US House Committee of Science (UHCS), it extends the resurrected non-avian dinosaurs and pterosaurs the same rights as any other endangered animal species, as well as restricting further access to the islands owned by InGen. As a result, InGen is prohibited from cloning any other prehistoric flora or fauna. Then after hearing of the creation of a hybrid plant named Karacosis wutansis made by Dr. Henry Wu and his team of geneticists on May 21st of that year, Simon Masrani, the CEO of the Masrani Corporation, an international company with interests in oil, telecom, mining, construction, health care, and most importantly, genetics founded by his late father Sanjay in 1973 who was an old friend of John Hammond before his death in 1992, approaches Hammond and InGen and begans talks to purchase InGen. Sadly, later this year, John Hammond died.
1998-Masrani Global Corporation purchased InGen and drawing experts from all over the company, Simon Masrani began planning a new theme park on Isla Nublar to fulfill John Hammond's dream of a functioning dinosaur park open to the public - Jurassic World.
1999-A small team of scientists from InGen illegally landed on the restricted Isla Sorna against the 1997 Gene Guard Act and began the process of cloning a new species of non-avian dinosaurs not created before and therefore were not on “InGen’s list” for genetic experiments and amalgam testing. They were grown and experimented on over a period of nine months covertly in order to avoid any carnivorous dinosaur’s. After that, the scientists left the island and abandoned them. The 4 illegally cloned dinosaurs are:
- Spinosaurus
- Ceratosaurus
- Corythosaurus
- Ankylosaurus
2000-On August 25th, InGen's prototype iron analyzer discovers trace fragments of DNA in a recently discovered mosasaur skeleton. Dr. Wu believed this to be the only way of recreating aquatic organisms without extracting blood from mosquitoes trapped in amber leading into the creation of the marine reptile, Mosasaurus. Later on December, Simon Masrani promoted Dr. Wu within the ranks of the InGen company and brought onto the Jurassic World project.
2001-12-year-old Eric Kirby and his mother's boyfriend, Ben Hildebrand respectively, went parasailing with the illegal DINO-SOAR near the restricted Site B in hopes to see dinosaurs. Unfortunately, something in the mist attacks their boat, killing Enrique and the rest of his crew, leaving Ben and Eric stranded on the island. After pleading to multiple agencies for help in getting their son back, a divorced couple Paul and Amanda Kirby travel to the island with Dr. Alan Grant, his colleague Billy Brennan, and a trio of mercenaries, M. B. Nash, Cooper, and Udesky, in order to retrieve Eric. After the long-legged Spinosaurus destroys their plane and kills Cooper and Nash, the group is left stranded on the island. After finding Ben's rotted corpse, the group treks on but gets separated after a Velociraptor (which were more avian-like) encounter in which Udesky gets killed by them. Eventually finding Eric and regrouping, the group continues to trek facing deadly types of dinosaurs, including the illegally-bred ones like the Spinosaurus itself, and an aviary full of giant, sharp-toothed Pteranodons that almost killed Billy. But the group escapes the aviary, but inadvertently lets the gate, letting three of the mutated pterosaurs escape. The Kirbys and Alan Grant are able to send a call to Ellie Degler, whose husband, Mark, works for the US State Department. She is then able to send the US Marines and Navy to the island and rescue the Kirbys, Alan Grant, and Billy who was severely injured by the Pteranodons. On they're way back to the mainland in one of the helicopters, the survivors and soldiers witnesses the escaped Pteranodons flying out over the Pacific Ocean nearby, in which Grant states that they're finding a new nesting ground. Once they returned, the survivors mentioned the illegally-bred dinosaurs species they encountered on Site B, but the information was buried by "bribed officials". Later that year, the three escaped Pteranodons flew to Canada and were "cleaned-up" by the InGen security Division team led by Vic Hoskins, leading him to be hired by Simon Masrani (who was impressed by this) to re-develop the InGen Security Devision and security expert for the planned Jurassic World.
2002 to 2004-On April of 2002, the InGen security team led by Vic Hoskins arrived on Isla Nublar and on the 19th, they came across the queen of the island, the veteran Tyrannosaurus rex that's been roaming free and wild on the island since the '93 Incident, surviving off of the dinosaurs such as Parasaurolophus and Gallimimus, a goat herd, and carrion, still bearing the scars from her fight with the "Big One" raptor during the '93 Incident, developing a particularity severe case of ragged tooth, and remained unchallenged as the alpha predator of the island. Then they captured it and put back into captivity to become an attraction for the new park. At the same time, Simon founded Timack Constuction in San Jose to help subsidiary Axis Boulder Engineering in planning, preparing, and activating construction of the park and so contruction of Jurassic World, with the Timack Constuction scouts what once was the Gallimimus Enclosure on October 10th. The construction workers were protected by Hoskins InGen's Security team from the island's local wildlife as they built the new park. Although what remained of the first park had been discovered by teams sent to the island, it was not incorporated into the new park, instead being closed off to the public and left to continue to rot. In 2003, Dr. Wu and his colleagues were trying to recreate feathered dinosaurs, but failed when they discover that the cause of featherless dinosaurs is due to a Null allele, which is the result of the constant manipulating and mutating of the dinosaurs' genes as well as the addition of other animal DNA (frogs, reptiles, birds) that gives feathered dinosaurs (such as the raptors, Compsognathus, Gallimimus, etc.) scales. It may also explain why the pterosaurs (such as Pteranodon) weren't given any pycnofibres/fur at all. At the same year, the UHCS revises the Gene Guard Act and states its confidence in Masrani Global and the Jurassic World project, requested by an unkown Masrani official "for reasons of medical advancement". This watered-down version of the Bill allows Masrani to clone more dinosaurs. In 2004, the construction of Jurassic World was finally completed with a total of $1.2 billion spent on concrete and building material, such as the main building the Samsung Innovation Center in the park's main street and the lagoon in the center of the island attached to a river that contains 3 million gallons of water and where the Mosasaurus that was successfully recreated was placed. Many new rides, attractions, and vehicles (such as the Gyrosphere) for the park were made. By that same year, during her Freshman year of College, 19-year-old Claire Dearing was hired to intern at the park. The dinosaurs initially created for the first park (such as the T. rex, Brachiosaurus, Gallimimus, etc.) that were recaptured were made into exhibits once more, while at that same year, more dinosaurs (such as Stegosaurus, Baryonyx, Pachycephalosaurus, Microceratus, etc.) were being transported from Isla Sorna to Isla Nublar to be housed for the new park, after a large drop in dinosaur populations. Some paleontologists claimed it was the result of territorial disputes, others argued disease was the catalyst, while some scientists even placed the blame on the animals’ behavior, or even poachers. But a recent revelation confirms that the true cause of the fall in populations on Site B was due to the illegally-bred species (like Spinosaurus and Ceratosaurus) on the island. The term ”Chaos Effect,” Ian Malcolm coined in his book God Creates Dinosaurs, has since become the accepted term for describing the radical and unnatural changes that took place on Isla Sorna. Since then, its confirmed that there are no non-avian dinosaurs and pterosaurs living on Isla Sorna as of 2018 and it is now restricted and abandoned. The new park was built in the southern part of Isla Nublar, and the old park in the northern part of the island was designated a "Restricted Area". Since the '93 Incident, most of Jurassic Park was reclaimed by the jungle, with the Visitor's Center in particular was barely visible in the thick jungle, its famous double doors being the only distinguishing feature.
I. Jurassic World (2005 to 2015)
On May 30th, 2005, Jurassic World opened to the public and was the first dinosaur park to be completely made and opened. The park was an instant success as 98,120 visitors attended in its first month and over 8 million from more than ninety countries attended in the first year alone. At that same year, Masrani Corporation and InGen sign an agreement with the Costa Rican Environmental Protection society to formally protect the indigenous wildlife of Isla Nublar. Also after the park's official opening, Claire Dearing was hired to become senior assets manager for the titular dinosaur park.
In addition to the dinosaurs and other Mesozoic animals that were originally used for the first park and those being shipped from the now abandoned Site B, many new Mesozoic animals were recreated by InGen in the Hammond Creation Lab located next to the Samsung Innovation Center throughout the ten year run and history of Jurassic World. Among these were those who were unfinished and left abandoned since the '93 Incident and the evacuation on Site B (such as Apatosaurus, Dimorphodon, Allosaurus, Metriacanthosaurus, Suchomimus, etc.) and those that were new and never been known on InGen's list before (such as Stygimoloch, Sinoceratops, Deinonychus, Styracosaurus, etc.). Among the techniques used was a machine known as the Hammond XB-20 that could decode any extinct creature’s genome in under an hour, created in 2011 by Masrani Global's former rival Tatsuo Technologies that is purchased by the company during that year. In total, around 250 Mesozoic animals were recreated in the lab.
In 2012, Vic Hoskins and InGen Security Devision began a project known as Integrated Behavioral Raptor Intelligence Study (IBRIS). The raptors created were kept in the Raptor Research Arena on Isla Nublar and Hoskins hires former US Navy officer, Owen Grady to train them. A year later, Owen recommended his friend Barry to Vic Hoskins after discovering the raptors' pack dynamic was much more complicated than he and the other workers had thought. Barry was hired as the raptors' caretaker for the project. One of the apparent aims of the project was for an attraction for Jurassic World when there was a set of raptors that were fully trained, but unknown to Owen and the others, Vic Hoskins wanted to control the Velociraptors in training so that they can be used in military operations, which Owen disagrees. Sometime before 2015, four Velociraptors were bred and given the names Blue (the eldest and dominant pack member), Delta, Echo (she bears a scar from a fight with Blue to become dominant in the pack with Blue winning), and Charlie. Since their creation, Owen raised and trained them with 40 commands with Owen himself being their alpha. However, despite this, the featherless dromaeosaurids are always on the hunt and as of 2015, they were not yet trained for public display as they are only being 73% trained.
Meanwhile in 2011, things were not going great for Jurassic World as park funds began to drop, sparking worry in investors. So later, Simon Masrani attended a meeting on April 4, 2012, in which the board of his company unanimously agreed that a new attraction was needed for Jurassic World to satisfy investors. After he had gotten out of the meeting, Simon then emailed Dr. Wu his approval to create a new species. Development of the hybrid began to get underway in mid 2012, and after a long and careful process, collecting DNA, mutating it and blending it with that of other species. The result was a genetically modified hybrid theropod dinosaur of several theropod dinosaur genera (Tyrannosaurus rex, Velociraptor, Carnotaurus, Giganotosaurus, Majungasaurus, Rugops, and Therizinosaurus), the giant Cretaceous alligatorid crocodilian Deinosuchus, and modern animals (cuttlefish, tree-frog, pit adder snake, etc.), made to be bigger and scarier than the island's resident T. rex, and also to be the latest attraction and made to satifity the publics desire of "bigger, louder, more teeth" and was given an intimidating name known as the Indominus rex. When CEO Masrani announced the new attraction for the dinosaur park at the beginning of 2015, the park saw an increase in ticket sales, but the creation of a genetically modified hybrid would soon prove to be a horrible mistake as unknown to Masrani, Claire, and the rest of the employees, Hoskins had conspired with Wu and planned the creation of the Indominus rex for military applications, rather than be an attraction, creating a killing machine of unmatched lethality and cunning.
Two I. rex's were created (just in case one would die during infancy) and the staff were hoping that it would be a great new addition to the park. But problems begin kicking in as growing up isolated in a small paddock without any interactions and teaching from a parental figure, the two I. rex siblings became deranged and increasingly unpredictable, (the only positive relationship they had was each other and a mechanical crane that gave them food on a weekly basis) and then, one night, the I. rex siblings started squabbling over a certain scrap of meat, and having no parental figure to break up the fight, it only grew more and more intense, when the older I. rex killed and ate it's own sibling. This was a complete shock of the staff the next morning, when they found it feasting off it's sibling's corpse. It is unclear as to how this happened, though the lack of a proper parental figure seems to be the likely culprit.
In addition to killing its sibling, it grew to proportions that exceeded initial estimates, forcing the opening of the attraction to be delayed 7 months while the creature's paddock was altered and strengthened to accommodate it. To make matters worse, the I. rex began to anticipate where the handlers would bring food and after an incident where a handler nearly lost an arm, a Terex crane was used instead. Further concerns were also raised after it attempted to break the glass of the viewing gallery, but despite all of this, the park's owners continued to advertise the attraction.
On May of 2015, the park had several new rides and attractions in the conceptual phase with Axis Boulder, including the Treetop Gazers that involves the Brachiosaurus (and possibly Mamenchisaurus) that is planning to open sometime in 2018, as well as those probably involving Carnotaurus, Allosaurus, Spinosaurus, Pachyrhinosaurus, etc.
II. Jurassic World Incident and Indominus rex Breakout and Rampage (2015)
On December of 2015, Claire Dearing's nephews, Zach and Grey Mitchell visited Jurassic World. By that time, only 37 animal species (including the newest asset, the Indominus rex) remained on Isla Nublar, with over half of them being known on display in the park while the other half was not shown for unknown reasons, likely that they were planned and not yet displayed and opened to the public, being newly recreated, and/or that some of them might have lived in the restricted area.
Meanwhile, the Indominus rex, who was still not yet fully-grown and being a subadult, was raised well in captivity and was fed three times a day. However, because she had no social connections with other members of her species, had never imprinted on anybody, and was basically in isolation all of her life as the only member of its species, the hybrid became deranged and very unstable. So Simon Masrani asks Claire to consult Owen Grady to inspect the paddock to check if it was safe, as he seemed to know something about animals....but that's when things go horribly wrong.
A few weeks before the opening of her attraction, the Indominus rex broke out of her enclosure and went on a violent, destructive rampage, killing a few employees and creating chaos since. The hybrid was even smart enough to claw out the tracking implant device from her own body and this made it impossible for the ACU Troopers to track down the I. rex who waited for them, then slaughtered the two teams led by Hamada and Austin. It mostly killed for sport and many other dinosaurs got killed in the process including a herd of six Apatosauruses and an Ankylosaurus. Masrani then flew a helicopter armed with a mini-gun to take out the Indominus, however, it broke into the Isla Nublar Aviary and released the pterosaurs which attacked Simon and the other men in the helicopter, causing it to crash in a fiery explosion, killing Simon Masrani. Then all the released pterosaurs flew to the main street and attacked the park's visitors. The I. rex also had the ability to communicate with the IBRIS raptors in the park, while its thick skin seemed almost impervious to physical harm and could withstand bullets. After continuing its rampage, causing chaos, death, and destruction, the Indominus rex met its end when facing the veteran Tyrannosaurus rex, IBRIS raptor Blue, and then finally killed for good by the Mosasaurus that dragged it down to the lagoon, drowning it.
Despite the hybrid's destruction, Jurassic World was closed down for good and never to be reopened as a result of the Indominus's attack and resulting damage as well as the fact that many people were injured as well as those that were killed in the incident such as Vic Hoskins, Zara Shealy (Claire's executive assistant), and of coarse Simon Masrani. Treetop Gazors and other planned attractions and rides were canceled due to this. So for that reason, Jurassic World was left abandoned and suffer the same fate as its predecessor, Jurassic Park did 22 years before.
III. Post Jurassic World Incident (2016 to 2018)
After the 2015 Incident, Richard Wiesner, COO of Masrani Global, sends an urgent memo to the investors of his company stating that there will be an emergency board meeting, while on March of 2016, inquiries are started, looking into charges of bio-ethical misconduct against Henry Wu and into a possible violation of the Gene Guard Act by Masrani Global and InGen. Several employees of the two companies came forward with incriminating evidence against their employers. During the aftermath of the incident, Masrani Global was forced to pay off $800 million in damages and lawsuits from the survivors of the incident.
Meanwhile, on the abandoned Isla Nublar, following the 2015 Incident that led to the closure and abandonment of Jurassic World and left to suffer the same fate as its predecessor, a ruined rotting park slowly reclaimed by nature, what's left of the Indominus rex was its white skeleton remaining at the bottom of a lagoon. The Mosasaurus that lives there is found itself trapped inside its tank and as the food that was once fed to it regularly became less and less, the poor marine squamate lizard slowly grew more and more desperate. That is until, on one stormy night, on June of 2016, a group of mercenaries were sent to the island to search and retrieve a DNA sample of the I. rex from the lagoon. A submarine of two men is sent down to get a bone sample, carves out a rib bone, and send it to the surface to get picked up by a helicopter, before the Mosasaurus attacks and eats the submarine. The marine reptile then eats a mercenary hanging on the rescue ladder on a helicopter while trying to escape the park's veteran Tyrannosaurus rex, and when the gates were left open, it escaped the lagoon and swam into the ocean. Despite such a near fatal encounter with the T. rex and Mosasaurus, the team's survivors succeeded into getting the bone specimen of the I. rex and escaped the island. Then the DNA of Indominus, which is now in a container, was then claimed by Eli Mills, who then, assisted Henry Wu in using the I. rex DNA combined with Velociraptor DNA to create a new hybrid: the Indoraptor.
Back on Isla Nublar, in the wake of the fall of Jurassic World in 2015, all the non-avian dinosaurs and pterosaurs roamed free from their enclosures, spread across the island, and left to fend for themselves and struggle to survive. But the ecosystem became more unstable than previously, largely due to the presence of a much greater number of carnivorous theropods on the island and that there wasn't enough space and landmass for the abandoned animals as Isla Nublar is much smaller than Isla Sorna. This led to over-hunting and competition, with a number of species falling back into extinction. Other factors include disease, lack of care, and failing to adapt to life in the lush wilderness of Isla Nublar. For the Queen of the Island, the old veteran T. rex who have been living there for 30 years, roaming free once again as she was years before, still bearing the scars from her fight with both the extinct Indominus rex in 2015 and the "Big One" raptor in 1993, and the apex predator of the island is not alone as other large carnivorous theropods such as Allosaurus and Carnotaurus join the tyrannosaur in the fight for survival. With three of her pack mates killed during the 2015 Incident (Charlie getting killed by the InGen Security troopers, while Delta and Echo gets killed by the Indominus rex), Blue, the last of the IBRIS raptors and Velociraptor in general, is struggling to survive through the dangerous world of Isla Nublar on her own, competing with some of the other remaining carnivorous theropods. But if these changes weren't enough, a more deadlier, catastrophic force is about to seal their fate. Something that would turn Isla Nublar and its inhabitants upside down.
On February of 2017, the Costa Rican Institute of Volcanology (CRIV) reported that after being dormant for centuries and being used by InGen for geothermal power, the island's mighty volcano in the northwest Mount Sibo becomes active again, triggered by a shift in the tectonic plates resulted in minor aftershocks throughout the rockbed, creating a relatively small fissure that caused a rise in heat beneath the volcano. By September, the volcano was reclassified as active after a private helicopter illegally flew too close to the island and its passengers spotted several ruptures of magma from the mountain peak. The following month, on October 5, Mt. Sibo's Volcanic Status Level (VSL) was set to MAG 03 for significant activity.
As the activity of the volcano increases, it created dramatic effects on the island with an increase in acidity levels of water sources, along with high levels of sulphur dioxide and large quantities of carbon dioxide, saturating rivers and standing water. This volcanic outgassing from deep below the surface of Isla Nublar, as well as exposure to ashfall, initially result in algal blooms that starve the water sources of oxygen. As a result the populations of fish and other aquatic life dwindle and vanish, effectively obliterating an entire section of the food chain that several dinosaur species have come to rely upon, including Suchomimus and Baryonyx. In addition, contamination of hydrogen fluoride at higher elevations on Mount Sibo is a creeping threat to the ecosystems of the island’s southern lowlands. With rainstorms constantly travelling over the island, it is only a matter of time before groundwater contaminated with hydrogen fluoride is flushed into water sources in the more southern regions of the island, potentially causing a total collapse of the ecosystem and the demise of these animals before Mount Sibo even erupts. Land-dwelling dinosaurs were also far from safe as grazing animals were particularly susceptible to pulmonary exposure from volcanic ash on the surface of plant life, and ingestion of hydrogen fluoride can compound this damage, causing severe burns and irritation to the eyes, lungs and mucous membranes. This can lead to chronic illness, secondary infections, and ultimately death. The surrounding foothills of Mount Sibo is the favoured territory of Parasaurolophus, Pachycephalosaurus, and Microceratus.
A high energy particle scan of the crust beneath the volcano’s interior revealed large chambers of pressured magma. If this magma were to breach the surface, it is widely believed that the resulting explosion would have the capacity to destroy all biological life on the island’s surface, driving the surviving non-avian dinosaurs and pterosaurs back into extinction in a single blow, 66 million years after their previous extinction (along with 75% of all animal species worldwide) from the K-Pg (Cretaceous-Paleogene) mass extinction event.
As a result of knowing this, Claire Dearing founded the Dinosaur Protection Group (DPG) on March 2017 to organize a rescue mission to save the non-avian dinosaurs and pterosaurs of Isla Nublar from the impending eruption, preserving them, and advocating their rights as a species. Other members of it include system analyst Franklin Webb (a former IT technician for Jurassic World) and paleovetrinarian Zia Rodriguez.
So far, according to the DPG, only 13 genera of dinosaurs have been subject to cruelty at some time on Isla Nublar in the past by unknown causes:
- Ceratosaurus
- Coelurus
- Corythosaurus
- Deinonychus
- Edmontosaurus†
- Euoplocephalus
- Herrerasaurus
- Lesothosaurus
- Mamenchisaurus
- Metriacanthosaurus†
- Segisaurus
- Spinosaurus
- Styracosaurus
IV. Eruption of Mount. Sibo and Destruction of Isla Nublar (2018)
Around March 5th, 2018, Dr. Wu is found guilty of bio-ethical misconduct and stripped of all credentials.
Back on Isla Nublar, the Mesozoic inhabitants of the island has reached its equilibrium (discounting the Mosasaurus as she is now escaped into the ocean), under increasing stress, and endangered as Mt. Sibo increases its activity and prepares for its mighty eruption and destroy the island. Their survival hangs in the balance.
A U.S. Senate hearing in Washington, D.C. debates whether Isla Nublar's archosaurs should be saved from the impending eruption. Ian Malcolm testifies that the non-avian dinosaurs and pterosaurs should be allowed to perish to correct John Hammond's mistake of cloning them. After the Senate rules against rescuing the archosaurs from Isla Nublar much to the disappointment of the DPG, Hammond's former partner, Benjamin Lockwood, summons Claire Dearing to his Northern California estate. Lockwood and his aide, Eli Mills, reveal a plan to relocate the dinosaurs to a new island sanctuary where they will be left to live on their own, safe from human interference. Claire is needed to help reactivate the park's dinosaur tracking system to locate the animals and rescue 11 species or more and Mills asks her to relocate former raptor trainer Owen Grady to find and capture Blue the raptor. Claire recruits Owen to help her rescue the remaining dinosaurs and pterosaurs from the island.
Once they arrived on the threatened Isla Nublar through a charter plane and land, the group is surprised to find a large base camp has already been set up, and they are met by Ken Wheatley, a big game and trophy hunter. They all set off along with a group of mercenaries to reactivate an abandoned radio communications tower that they will use to find the dinosaurs via their RFID chip implants. Once they arrived there, Claire and Franklin Webb get the tracking system online, while Owen, Zia, Ken, and the mercenary team search for Blue. On finding her, the encounter escalates with Blue getting tranquilized by Ken and the mercenaries, resulting in a mercenary shooting an angry Blue with a pistol (whilst attacking and killing him) and Wheatley tranquilizing Owen. The mercenaries take Zia so she can treat Blue's injury. With that and carting an injured Blue to the ship known as the S.S. Arcadia, they leave a sedated Owen behind, along with trapping and abandoning Claire and Franklin in the tower to suffer the wrath of the mighty volcano.
After 493 years of being dormant, Mt. Sibo erupts and exploded violently due to the pent-up magma pressure, destroying much of its outer structure at approximately midday. The magma chamber was breached, causing a surge of magma which ruptured the volcano from the base upward. Lava bombs were ejected from the summit and lava began to spread across the northern island as well as setting jungles and fields in flames. Several minutes later, the eruption triggered a shock-wave and the eastern side of the volcano collapsed, unleashing a pyroclastic cloud which washed across the northeastern island. Within several more minutes, most of the island was burning. These hazards would easily overwhelm an area the size of Isla Nublar, killing most animal and plant life on the island, as well as destroying all that is left from both the abandoned Jurassic Park and Jurassic World.
As the volcano explodes, all the animals of Isla Nublar, big and small, both predator and prey begin to panic and flee for their lives or face their red-hot fiery end. Owen awakes from his unconsciousness, but despite being mostly immobile, he escapes from the flowing lava just before being burnt, while Claire and Franklin manages to escape the old communications tower after a Baryonyx encounter within as lava falls inside. After reunited, Owen, Claire, and Franklin flee from the lava and falling debris, while being chased by stampeding dinosaurs. Using an abandoned gyrosphere, the group flee from the burning ash and all fall off the edge with several other dinosaurs. They then swam to the beach and saw several dinosaurs being captured by Ken and the mercenaries, being caged in the S.S. Arcadia ship. As the volcano continues its eruption and destroys Isla Nublar, the ship with all its caged animals begins to depart the East Dock, while Owen, Claire, and Franklin sneak in on board and watch the island burn up in the background.
So far, the number of known animals are:
- Allosaurus (at least four with two adults and two juveniles)
- Ankylosaurus (at least four adults)
- Apatosaurus (at least three adults)
- Baryonyx (at least two adults)
- Brachiosaurus (at least one or probably more; confirmed rescued as being labeled in the Arcadia's manifest list)
- Carnotaurus (at least two adults)
- Compsognathus (at five adults, though probably more as they would've stowed away on the ship)
- Gallimimus (at least five adults)
- Pachyrhinosaurus (at least one or probably more; confirmed rescued as being labeled in the Arcadia's manifest list)
- Parasaurolophus (at least four adults)
- Pteranodon (at least three adults, though their maybe more surviving as numerous Pteranodons were leaving Nublar's destruction behind)
- Sinoceratops (at least two adults)
- Stegosaurus (at least four adults)
- Stygimoloch (or juvenile Pachycephalosaurus) (at least three, including one named Stiggy)
- Triceratops (two adults and one youngster)
- Tyrannosaurus rex (Rexy/Roberta)
- Velociraptor (Blue)
As the Arcadia leaves Isla Nublar to its fate, a lone and trapped Brachiosaurus (which is actually the same one John Hammond introduced to his endorsement team 25 years before and was their first non-avian dinosaur they saw) is seen walking down the East Dock, crying out to the departing ship and standing on its hind legs as it was slowly engulfed by the toxic smoke and debris from the erupting volcano, letting out its final cries and dies. Owen, Claire, Franklin, and even the mercenaries sadly watches the macronarian sauropod’s destruction as they leave Isla Nublar destroyed, burnt, and crumbled by Mount Sibo, as well as representing the ending of a dream that has been going on since the 1980's.
V. Lockwood Manor Auction and Dinosaur Breakout (2018)
As the ship sails away from the now destroyed Isla Nublar, Owen, Claire, and Franklin meet up with Zia and a dying Blue and help her cure her gunshot wound by tranfusing it with T. rex blood. They now realized that Eli Mills had lied and betrayed them and the whole thing was a set up as they noticed that the captured dinosaurs and pterosaurs were never being transported to a new island and are for another purpose.
Back at the Lockwood Mansion, Lockwood's orphaned pre-teen "granddaughter" Maisie overhears Mills and auctioneer Gunnar Eversol secretly planning to auction the captured dinosaurs on the black market, as well as unveiling the new getetically-modified hybrid dromaeosaurid theropod, the Indoraptor, created by geneticist Dr. Wu to be a weapon and shown to attack on command through the use of visual and audio frequency, which would drive it into a frenzied state. But Wu wants Blue's DNA to create a more enhanced Indoraptor.
After Maisie informs Lockwood about the auction, Lockwood confronts Mills about the latter's true intention of selling the dinosaurs in it, angered that Mills has crossed him and used his own mansion as the auction's venue. He orders Mills to call the police himself, but Mills instead murders Lockwood by smothering him with a pillow.
As the Arcadia arrives in northern California, the caged dinosaurs are being transported to Lockwood's estate. Franklin is caught, but is forced to help transfer the dinosaurs to Lockwood Manor. Owen and Claire sneak into a truck, but are discovered by Wheatley and his men and imprisoned in the basement of Lockwood Manor. Bidders soon arrive for a dinosaur auction and place their bids on various species of dinosaurs captured by the team on the island, including an Ankylosaurus, a juvenile Allosaurus, a Baryonyx, and multiple others. After being captured by Wheatley, Owen attracts the attention of Stiggy the Stygimoloch, causing her to break through the wall and eventually break through the doors of Owen and Claire's cell allowing them to escape. They find Maisie who leads them to the dinosaur auction where the Indoraptor is being sold despite Wu's protests that it is a prototype. Owen disrupts the proceedings by luring the Stiggy into the room, causing chaos as it rams the auctioneers and made the auctioneers flee before the pachycephalosaur run into the forest. Afterwards, Wheatley tranquilizes the Indoraptor to extract a tooth as a trophy, but it feigns sedation and escapes, killing him, Eversol, a few remaining auctioneers, and two security guards.
Meanwhile, back in his laboratory, Henry Wu is trying to get a blood sample from Blue to complete his Indoraptor but to his shock and outrage, he learns from Zia that she gave Blue a blood transfusion from the T. rex, thereby contaminating Blue's pure genome. Suddenly, Franklin manages to sedate Wu with a tranquilizer dart, allowing him and Zia to escape, but not before they set Blue loose. Blue, while killing tow gunmen then accidentally triggers Wu’s lab to explode as well as caused damage to several tanks of hydrogen gas within the laboratory.
After learning from Mills that Maisie Lockwood is actually cloned from Lockwood's deceased daughter and is the reason John Hammond, who opposed human cloning, ended their partnership (perhaps sometime before the creation of Jurassic Park) , the Indoraptor hunts Owen, Claire, and Maisie throughout the mansion. Then Blue arrives and attacks the hybrid, resulting in a fight that ends when Blue causes the Indoraptor to fall through a glass roof and directly onto the Agujaceratops skull, which impales and kills him.
When a hydrogen cyanide gas leak threatens the caged animals, Maisie is unable to let them die and frees them despite Owen's warning.
Mills and two of his men were about to depart with the I. rex fragment in a car, only to be caught in the midst of a stampede of the freed dinosaurs and pterosaurs that killed two of his men and destroyed the car. Mills, however, manages to survive it, but before he can escape with the Indominus specimen, Mills gets ambushed, eaten, and killed by the escaped Tyrannosaurus rex and Carnotaurus and afterwards, the T. rex inadvertently crushes and destroys the only DNA specimen of the Indominus rex for good, thus ensuring that no carnivorous hybrid can ever wreak havoc upon the world again.
With the rescued dinosaurs (including Blue), pterosaurs, and the marine reptile, Mosasaurus, roaming free across the mainland, skies, and oceans, a dawning of a neo-Mesozoic era had begun:
“How many times do you have to see the evidence? How many times must the point be made? We’re causing our own extinction! Too many red lines have been crossed! And our home has in fundamental ways been deluded by avarice and political megalomania... Genetic power has now been unleashed, and of course, that is going to be catastrophic. This change was Inevitable from the moment we brought the first dinosaur back from extinction. We convince ourselves that sudden change is something that happens outside the normal order of things like a car-crash. Or that’s beyond our control like a fatal illness. We don’t conceive of sudden, radical irrational change as woven into the very fabric of existence, yet I can assure you it most assuredly is... and it's happening now. Humans and dinosaurs are now going to be forced to coexist.... These creatures were here before us, and if we're not careful, they’re going to be here, after. We’re going to have to adjust to new threats that we can’t imagine. We've entered a new era... welcome to Jurassic World"
- Ian Malcolm, 2018
Note: The information I used is from the movies, the Telltale video game Jurassic Park: The Game (although not all fans agree that its canon to the film series), the books, and the websites like Masrani Global and Dinosaur Protection Group (DPG) and try to make it (if not entirely) movie canon as I can! It was hard one and sorry for being absent for a while!
Jurassic Park and its
sequals is owned by Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment

I read somewhere that, apparently, there was a list of animals taken onto the Arcadia, and that Brachiosaurus was one of them, but I have no idea about the validity of this, and am still trying to determine a source for the previously stated remark.

Yeah I recently heard from Colin Trevorrow's Twitter stating that the dinosaurs you mentioned were rescued and freed offscreen as well as the fact that in the film during the auction sequence, Brachiosaurus and Pachyrhinosaurus were listed in the auction report (vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/ju… , vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/ju… ), meaning that some of them were rescued off-screen (unknown how many)
Do you think I should update this? How?

Colin actually hasn't confirmed that every single still living species was saved, only that not all the dinosaurs saved were shown on camera and that it is a possibility.

In all honesty, given how much people tend to screw over each other in the name of profit, I would actually be completely fine if mankind died out and the dinosaurs inherited the Earth because we cloned one two many monsters in this universe.
They had had their chance, so did we.

As much as I love dinosaurs, but I believe some of them like Dilophosaurus or Pachycephlosaurus are being offscreen. I hate to think that most people kinda blamed Malcolm or the Senate for leaving dinosaurs to die. And also I prefer let the dinosaurs free rather than listening to Owen’s warning (Sorry Pratt).
