Description
Of course, the majority of Goths are unique in their style and music preferences. However, within the subculture there are certain "types" of Goth with particular characteristics. And it can be fun to classify them. Naturally, classifications for each "type" vary from person to person, so you may disagree with what I say here!This type has been long overdue. Perhaps the most creative creatures on the Gothic spectrum in terms of fashion.

Cinema Strange is not new... They started in 1992. I WAS THERE!!! Just so you know. I miss Lucas and the boys. Atlanta has so little goth scene these days. (T_T) these make me long for my California days. But these are cute and otherwise well researched. People never believed me when I said Goths are all over the map. One of the most varied of lifestyles.

I quite like the idea of a "missing link."
I once went to the perfect store for these guys: they sold everything from Bettie Page postcards to Alice Cooper lunchboxes, and all sorts of old horror movie memorabilia.

Hmm...well, post-punkers overlap a lot with Trad..plus, their image isn't so distinctive (I'm thinking Joy Division), so it wouldn't be easy to draw them..

well i was thinking you rather mention "post punk" in the trad goth's description. i mean they started referring to themselves as goth after the batcave opened for business (82) while bela lugosi's death was praised by bauhaus in '79, and , as yourself mentioned, joy division started even earlier, so there's this little gap the trad goths don't cover.

hahah...love this. *ahem* according to wikipedia, deathrock is the missing link between punk and goth, pulling the morbid sense of style of goths and twisting it with the love to accessorize from punks.
personally, i don't care what the hell people call it.
if my parents weren't such tight-asses about things like my personal fashion, i'd probably cross over from punk to deathrock on a daily basis.
alas, i am stuck with normal haircolor and normal clothes.
BUT...*cackle*...not for much longer...in college...they CAN'T STOP ME DAMNIT.
